Twenty-six...26...local companies to be represented at our next 'She Leads. Women Driving Manufacturing' event! It's not too late to join the RSVP list and engage with our network of females working in and around the manufacturing industry. Incredibly thankful to welcome guest presenter Lindsay Howerton who will speak on The Power of Mindset. Eager to meet Wednesday, Dec. 4th at OakStar Bank in Overland Park, KS. After Lindsay's presentation, we'll dig into the power vs. status conceptual debate and discuss how the application can be utilized to gain success in the workplace. See you soon, Ladies! Looking forward to introducing instructor Koons to the LEAD Center staff as the Topeka Center for Advanced Learning and Careers considers the acquisition of a CIMM program. Glad to learn that the TCALC engineering and mathematics facilitators will also be visiting the FAME facility at KCKCC in the near future. As we continue to focus on workforce development, visiting with CTE instructors about the vast career opportunities available in manufacturing is critical! Similarly, connecting teachers to not only industry experts, but to one another is a future win for students and shops alike!
Enjoyed meeting several second year students in the engineering and applied mathematics program at the Topeka Center for Advanced Learning & Careers. Instructor Donald Koons will be coaching two BotsKC teams this year. Sponsored by Ian Reel of KAW VALLEY PRECISION LLC, this will be TCALC’s rookie season. The teams will utilize project management and 6-axis robot programming skills. Beginning with a kit design, students are most excited to craft their weapon and shell! Best of luck! #advancedmanufacturing #workforcepipeline

Many thanks to Brown Industries for their ongoing support of workforce development and local youth! Looking forward to introducing Team WeCode KC to potential mentor Brunson Instrument Company next Friday! With so many strong industry partners, this year’s competition is going to be exciting! https://lnkd.in/gJjuYdh2
Throughly enjoyed meeting team SEICHE at Brown Industries this afternoon. This group will certainly benefit from the wisdom of owner Zachary Davis, who is a former robotics participant himself. Design conversation was heavy, and revised plans will soon be finalized for ‘Kraken.’ Looking forward to seeing this young team bring big energy and ideas to competition!
