Do we really accept apologies more easily when someone has made a mistake of competency rather than a mistake of morality? We all have character weaknesses. Getting to work on strengthening them is the secret to happiness and lasting relationships. Maybe?

When you’ve made a mistake, refusing to apologize is not a sign of strength—it’s a mark of narcissism. Malcolm Gladwell and I discuss in our latest debate: https://lnkd.in/dMsez7_P

Need some web wisdom to resolve a small spousal conflict. ???? Songs that use people's names as the title aren't all that common, but there are some doozies. Which one is the best? I know you'll make the right choice...?? #nothingtodowithcharacterforonce

Can we do something awesome for Corey today?! #characterintelligence
Hey all, Just dropping a post to reiterate my current search for a new position. Given the time of year, I know how things can slow down a bit on the hiring front, but if anyone maybe comes across a Senior Talent Acquisition/ Recruiter role either in the Raleigh, NC area or in a remote function, I’d be super appreciative to hear about it! I think it’s fair to say, at this point, that I’ve been in & worked across multiple industries/ verticals and can adapt pretty quickly to something new. Industries worked: Mental/ Behavioral Health Banking/ Finance Investment Banking Financial Products RPO Online Marketing IT Security Accounting Tax (SALT & Federal) I’m far more interested in a role on a supportive & collaborative team than I am in a specific title or dollar amount (though I can’t clothe my daughter working for free). Again, if anyone comes across anything in this realm, I’d greatly appreciate learning about it at your convenience!

Genuine and accurate feedback is a real gift to the recipient. It leads them to ask the most important questions of themselves and then seek answers. Withholding this kind of feedback is a disservice. #characterintelligence
Not all feedback is created equal! So what sets great feedback apart from the rest? Reflecting on the process of making her directorial debut with her new film "Woman of the Hour," Anna Kendrick shares how she identified which voices to trust and which to tune out. “There were certain people who gave the most incredible notes because it felt like what they were doing was helping me frame the problem,” she explains. For Anna, the most impactful feedback came from friends and filmmakers who guided her to find the answers within, honoring her vision rather than reshaping it. This is a great reminder for all of us: effective feedback isn’t about dictating solutions but helping others uncover their best ideas. The research data is conclusive. The feedback from the real world is just as ??. 93% business leaders and hiring managers believe (70% strongly believe) that Respect?significantly impacts people's performance at work. And then there is our own experience at work. It doesn't take double-blind studies for us to see the damage a lack of respect inflicts on trust, teams, and productivity. Just take a moment to ??. It is crystal clear. Character - which includes Respect - is the most powerful determinant of workplace performance. #characterintelligence

Day 5?? of Character Counts Week: My mentor, Michael Merenda (rest in peace) ?Ever had a person who made it their mission to make you better? ??Ever know a person whose own goodness needed no introduction? ????♂?Ever learn from a person who was smarter than everyone else but spoke last? ??Ever follow the example of a person whose intentions you never doubted? Thanks, Mike. I'm still hoping to be like you when I grow up. (photo story - Mike loved his city and was absolutely terrible at technology. ? And he always wore a sport coat, because class is permanent.) Add your mentor stories in the comments, or just sit with their memories for a minute. Either way, ???? #character #mentors

Day 4?? of Character Counts Week: Things Famous Leaders Say About Character ?Jamie Dimon "The most important thing about a person is character." ?Jensen Huang "Greatness comes from character." ?John Wooden "Be more concerned with your character than your reputation, because your character is what you really are, while your reputation is merely what others think you are." ?Carlos Ghosn "You don't build your character by doing what everybody else is doing." ?Abraham Lincoln "Character is like a tree and reputation like its shadow. The shadow is what we think of it; the tree is the real thing." ?Richard Reeves "All leaders must face some crisis where their own strength of character is the enemy." ?William J. ??"The Irresistible Pull of Entrepreneurship" KANNY CEO Sean Vassilaros once sold asbestos to a little kid in his 4th grade class (he didn't know what it was, and no lawsuits were filed, although we still have no idea how he got it in the first place????♀?).
