As blockchain technology continues to mature, privacy remains a critical concern, especially for Enterprises. The immutability of blockchains also offers a conundrum for businesses, as certain data must be obfuscated and kept private. While blockchain’s strength lies in enabling actions that traditional systems can’t, its transparency exposes sensitive information—a significant challenge for enterprises. We’re excited to share our latest blog post where we dive deep into the blockchain privacy landscape. Discover how enterprises can: - Learn what blockchain privacy really means and how it can protect data confidentiality without compromising transparency. - Get an overview of the current privacy landscape and emerging technologies that are reshaping how privacy works on EVM-based blockchains. - Understand the flaws with existing privacy frameworks, from limited scalability to inefficient transaction shielding. ?? The social network X has been blocked in Brazil amid the Elon Musk vs Alexandre de Moraes censorship fight The platform was banned after Musk refused to abide by an order to censor Moraes' political opponents. Instead, of following Moraes’ orders, Musk took to X to call him a dictator and compared him to Lord Voldemort from Harry Potter. Not exactly a peaceful resolution. Love it or hate it, X still remains crypto's town square where topics are discussed and debated, and where knowledge is spread. 220 million individuals losing access to this tool is a massive blow for crypto adoption and literacy in this country. This week's edition of ????Brazil Crypto Report explores the ramifications. Other topics newsletter: ?? The world's first Solana ETF, issued by QR Asset Management, is now live for trading ?? In case you missed this webinar, Kaleido Co-Founder & Head of Engineering Peter Broadhurst and Principal Engineer Andrew Richardson, discussed the state of the art and showed a live demo of an enterprise DvP flow. They covered: 1?? The challenges and benefits of DvP for digital assets 2?? A popular enterprise toolkit and platform powered by Hyperledger FireFly that is compatible with Hyperledger Besu, Hyperledger Fabric, and many public chains 3?? How Kaleido makes it easy to build innovative DvP solutions with Hyperledger technologies In financial markets, the Delivery-versus-Payment (DvP) mechanism is a critical process to mitigate settlement risk, ensuring the simultaneous exchange of securities and cash. However, traditional DvP systems are often hampered by operational inefficiencies, settlement times, regulatory complexities, and the increasing threat of cybersecurity risks. DvP in the era of digital assets is an emerging space which cuts across infrastructure, event driven architecture, and transaction design. Blockchain offers next gen opportunities, but brings its own challenges as well. https://lnkd.in/gFaY6bGB Hyperledger Foundation #blockchain #dlt #financialinnovation #assets #transactions

Web3 Specialist @ Kaleido | Simplifying Blockchain for Enterprise

Today, money is fragmented across bank databases around the world. Blockchain can serve as a shared view of who owns what. But for blockchains to be any use: The money that's represented on existing databases needs to be represented on a blockchain ledger. Tokens are the solution for this - tokens are a representation of ownership. Tokenized money is money represented on a blockchain. Here's a couple different types of tokenized money: 1. Stablecoins Stablecoins are the most common form of tokenized money in public blockchain ecosystems today. The term "stablecoin" is pretty broad and often used in a retail context, where the end user is an everyday investor. However, stablecoin usage by banks and enterprises outside of crypto is poised to grow as regulatory clarity improves. Stablecoin issuers are private companies, not government entities - Circle (issues USDC) and Tether (issues USDT) are examples. Users transfer funds from their bank account and receive stablecoins in return. 2. Central bank digital currencies (CBDCs) Central bank digital currencies (or CBDCs) are also a very broad category that covers a wide variety of digital money or "e-money" experiments. CBDCs can involve a blockchain or refer to "e-money" projects more broadly that don't use blockchain. The key difference between CBDCs and other tokenized forms of money is that central banks are the issuers of CBDCs (vs the private companies that issue stablecoins). Since central banks have the authority to mint new money, it's possible that in the future CBDCs will be used to mint new money directly on the blockchain. Central banks can see big efficiency gains using digital currencies, and many countries are experimenting with retail use cases (like buying your morning coffee) and wholesale use cases (like banks making loans or payments to each other). 3. Tokenized deposits Tokenized deposits are what they sound like - representing bank deposits on a blockchain using tokens. Where CBDCs might be issued natively on a blockchain, tokenized deposits are digital representations of a traditional asset - bank deposits. When we deposit money in our bank accounts, banks can use tokens as a representation of that fiat money deposit on the blockchain. The bank issues the tokenized deposit. Similar to CBDC, tokenized deposits will likely be used for both retail and wholesale finance. Tokenized deposits could be used for everyday payments (perhaps an afternoon coffee), payments between banks, or even internally within a bank to track user deposits more easily. Private companies, central banks, and commercial banks will all play a role as stablecoins, CBDCs, and tokenized deposits continue to gain adoption from everyday users and large financial institutions. Next, I'll dive deeper into stablecoins. Drop your questions about tokenized money in the comments ?? and follow me to learn more about blockchain and the future of finance.???

The International Monetary Fund's recent paper "Programmability in Payment and Settlement" highlights how programmable money could revolutionize financial systems by introducing efficiency, security, and innovation. Some key insights include: 1?? Enhanced Efficiency and Automation: Programmable money may automate complex payment processes, reducing the need for intermediaries and minimizing manual intervention. 2?? Risk Mitigation: Embedding compliance and regulatory requirements can be directly integrated into payment systems. This helps mitigate operational risks and ensures transactions automatically adhere to legal standards. 3?? Dynamic Payment Conditions: Smart contracts enable the ability for payments to be executed based on real-time data such as market prices or delivery confirmations. 4?? Intrinsic Programmability: Intrinsic programmability involves embedding code directly into assets or payment systems and an example is tokenized deposits with encoded rules for interest payments or automatic redemptions. 5?? Extrinsic Programmability: Extrinsic programmability involves the use of external scripts or conditions that trigger certain actions such as executing a payment when a shipment arrives.
