?? 2024 November Employee Spotlight This month we are putting the spotlight on Cindy Pupo!! Cindy has been at Kalan LP for 8 years- starting as a merchandise planner and moving into the role of Director of Merchandising and Inventory Planning. We asked Cindy what the most challenging part of her work is and her favorite Kalan product- here is what she had to say.... "My team is responsible for identifying and predicting trends in the market and then ensuring we have the right amount of product to fully support those trends.?This is challenging on many levels.?Trends are now emerging quicker than ever with the constant presence of social media, but they are also sometimes dying out just as fast.?Knowing which trends to run with and when to let them go is a question we ask ourselves daily.?We are in constant motion adapting to the ever-changing needs of the retail environment.?As unpredictable as that is, I love the challenge that it presents. ? It might sound boring, but I love our collection of fridge magnets.?Because we make them in-house, we can put the most current (and often snarky) sentiments on them.?My current favorite is “Please be patient with me, I’m from the 1900s”.?Anyone with teenagers can probably relate to that one???" #shoplocal #shopsmall #trends #merchandising #wholesale

We had a fantastic fall day this weekend at our first annual Kalan family event at Arasapha Farm. Our fun committee encouraged employees to bring their family out for a day at the pumpkin patch with a hayride, cornmaze, slides, pillow bounces, yummy food and conversation. ?? 2024 September Employee Spotlight Our September spotlight employee, Victoria (Neath) Sothy, was hired as a full time employee 4 years ago. She started as an order picker, before moving to the print room as the operator, before landing in her current position as a production lead this past year. We asked Neath what her favorite thing about working at Kalan is and what her favorite product or design has been since she started and this is what she had to say.... "I love the fact that I come to work and plan out my day. The most interesting thing out here on the floor are the people with all their amazing personalities, dealing with a mix of all variations of culture, interests, and creations. Since I worked as a print operator, what caught my eye is the new magnets and stickers that we make with our new die cut printer with the ability to provide productivity, accuracy, and efficiency for our customers."
