Stories break stigma. They build trust. They show people that recovery is possible. As professionals, we have the opportunity to create space for these stories—because when people in recovery share their journeys, they light the way for others. Let’s keep amplifying these voices. Let’s keep making recovery visible. #SUDRecovery #RecoveryCommunity #MentalHealthAwareness

Disparities in Overdose Deaths: A Call to Action In Minnesota, the impact of substance use disorder (SUD) isn’t felt equally. ?? In 2021, American Indian Minnesotans were 10x more likely to die from a drug overdose than white Minnesotans. Black Minnesotans were more than 3x as likely. This is more than just a statistic—it’s a stark reality that demands our attention. Systemic barriers, lack of access to culturally competent care, and social determinants of health all play a role in these devastating disparities. At Kai Shin Clinic, we have always stood with the underdog—those who are often overlooked or underserved. Many of our patients rely on Medicaid or face major obstacles in accessing care, but that should never be a barrier to getting help. This data reinforces our commitment to serving the communities that need it most. We’re here to provide low-barrier, compassionate addiction medicine, mental health care, and primary care—because recovery should be accessible to all. ?? If you work in SUD treatment, we encourage you to dig into the numbers and learn more about the disparities in care. Check out the updated dashboard https://lnkd.in/gCu2pMyv for deeper insights. ?? Together, we can do better. Let’s push for solutions that meet people where they are.

?? Minnesota’s Recovery Community Faces a Critical Moment ?? With the potential loss of Nuway’s program, thousands of individuals in addiction treatment and housing support could be left without essential resources. This isn’t just about one organization—it’s about the people who rely on these services, the professionals dedicated to their care, and the broader system that sustains recovery in our state. Now, more than ever, collaboration is key. Recovery professionals, treatment providers, and support organizations must come together to ensure people don’t fall through the cracks. The impact of this situation is still unfolding, but one thing remains clear: recovery should never be faced alone. ?? If you’re a provider, advocate, or community member with resources or solutions, now is the time to step forward. Let’s work together to support those who need us most. #MinnesotaRecovery #AddictionTreatment #CommunitySupport #Collaboration #RecoveryMatters
