    Turns out a walk on the beach can be life-changing. Yes, that’s how Kahoona was born. Meet Gal Rapoport, Co-founder & CEO, and Alon Ashkenasi, Co-founder & CTO of Kahoona, a startup providing real-time customer insights and AI-driven hyper-personalization for brands. Picture this: The moment a visitor lands on your website, you instantly know if they're a loyal customer, a Gen Z-er, an impulsive shopper, or likely to #convert. Sounds like mind-reading? That’s Kahoona. We’ll let them take it from here –> ?? What led to founding Kahoona? When I (Gal) left Amazon's Personalization team to research HCI at the academy, I recognized a fundamental flaw in the digital world: over 95% of online business visitors remain anonymous. I joined forces with Alon, my old surfing buddy from the Technion with deep expertise in privacy, to address this challenge. Together, we founded Kahoona to reshape how businesses engage with their audience through AI-powered predictive segmentation decision-making, delivering immediate, user-level visibility on anonymous visitors. ?? What does your startup actually do? Using gen AI, we enable hyper-personalization in a cookieless world, allowing brands and online retailers to turn the 96% of website visitors who remain unidentified into high-intent buyers. What’s the story behind your startup’s name? Kahuna' is a Hawaiian word that refers to an expert in any field. And the 'oo'? It's for good luck! There's a superstition in our tribe that companies with double 'O' have extra luck. And yes… We can't deny that it also reflects our love for surfing and the sea. ?? What has been your proudest moment as a founder so far? When our very first customer recommended and introduced us to our largest customer today. ?? What makes your startup #ICONic? We bring the Kahoona tribe vibe. We work really hard, but know how to play hard and have fun! ??     Online consumers expect more personalized experiences every day. According to a 2024 report, 63.8% of online consumers say a brand will lose their loyalty if they deliver an un-personalized experience. But we have a problem. You don't know anything about them in order to deliver the experience they expect. They call it a "one journey - one user experience", or hyper-personalization (which is the latest buzzword to be abused, regardless of context, by so many vendors). Identity resolution would not tell you something about the users' preferences or characteristics. Real-time customer intelligence will. ?? ?? Two weeks ago, we gathered with the LVMH team at STATION F in #Paris to kick-off the 10th season of this very selective program. Out of 1,500 applicants, only a small group of companies were selected. On the second day, we had an amazing experience with Christian Dior Couture. We met such a great group of people from ~10 different teams. Kahoona is leading e-commerce into its’ new era of #hyperpersonalization, with our unique data modality that unlocks predictive hyper-segmentation. This multi-modal #AI approach provides real-time, user-level customer intelligence.     #ThrowbackThursday - My Take on SV101 by ICON: A few weeks back, Alon and I had the privilege of participating in SV101 by ICON in Palo Alto, alongside a group of incredible people I’m proud to call friends - Batch 15 (Blings.io, Evermile, Jigso AI, Sequence, Yess, Clarity and two stealth mode startups by Alon Kollmann, and by Rotem Lurie & Or Vaknin). After a highly selective process, we were fortunate to join the ICON - Israel Collaboration Network family. Yasmin Lukatz, Jessica Hare, Noa Topaz, Karyn Priel, Liat Miller and the entire team did their best to make our experience as valuable as possible. Way way beyond our expectations! We met inspiring individuals, learned a lot, refined our long-term mission, and most importantly, forged friendships for life. The ICON team is currently receiving applications for batch 16 - and the minimum that we can do to bring back to the community is ensuring that the next generation of ICON companies will be at least as good as the previous batches (and believe me.. the bar is high).
