???Does RTO really drive innovation? Forcing people into the office doesn’t spark creativity—time to think and the right environment do. Watch Helen Attia-Tolken explain how: ?? Hybrid work gives employees the freedom to innovate on their own terms. ?? A Cisco survey found?72% of employees?are positive about office time—but they want better-equipped spaces for collaboration. ?? Research shows?diverse, flexible environments?drive more innovation than rigid office mandates. Support innovation by empowering flexibility, not enforcing presence. ? ???Who’s in the Office the Most? A Regional Breakdown of Hybrid Work Trends ?? Hybrid work isn’t a one-size-fits-all model—it’s shaped by regional work cultures. When we break down office attendance by region using?Kadence customer data, the differences are clear: ???With Cancellations Included: ??Australia?leads the way, with the highest number of weekly office bookings. ???Europe?lags behind, with fewer bookings per week and little sign of upward movement. ???Without Cancellations (Actual Attendance): ??Australia?still tops the list, but employees are actually in the office?closer to 2.5 days per week, not 3. ???Europe?sees even lower attendance, averaging?just 1.5 days per week. What does this tell us??Hybrid is a global trend, but adoption varies widely by region.?Cultural attitudes toward flexibility, office mandates, and work-life balance all shape workplace habits. ?? Curious about the?magic number of office days?for hybrid success??Check out more insights from Kadence Pulse: https://lnkd.in/dvPspB3b ? Where does your region stand? Are these trends reflected in your workplace? #HybridWork #WorkplaceTrends #FutureOfWork #Kadence

?? NASA’s return to Earth is meticulously planned—so why do so many return-to-office strategies feel like a crash landing? Re-entry, whether from space or remote work, requires careful planning, clear communication, and the right tools to make it smooth. Yet, many companies miss the mark. Dan Bladen breaks it down in this post, and we dive deeper into the lessons from NASA here:?https://lnkd.in/eDEGSEpU #HybridWork #FutureOfWork #WorkplaceStrategy #ReturnToOffice

Co-Founder & CEO at Kadence. Hybrid Works on Kadence ?? ????

In honor of NASA astronauts returning to earth today I thought it would be fun to take a look at NASA planned their RTO. When NASA plans a mission, nothing is left to chance. Every detail is accounted for—crew rotations, safety protocols, communication plans. So why do so many companies treat Return-to-Office (RTO) like flipping a light switch instead of launching a well-planned mission? At Kadence, we’ve worked with hundreds of companies navigating hybrid work, and one thing is clear:?successful RTO isn’t about mandating presence—it’s about designing a workplace experience people want to be part of. Here’s what we’ve learned: ???Mission Clarity:?Just like astronauts need a clear mission, employees need to understand the?why?behind RTO. What’s the goal? What’s in it for them? ???Precision Planning:?NASA wouldn’t send astronauts into space without a schedule. Employees need structure—visibility into when their team is in, seamless desk and room booking, and real-time data to make decisions. ???Flexibility & Adaptation:?Just as space missions adjust to real conditions, RTO plans must evolve based on feedback and what actually drives collaboration.

Knowing whether people are actually using the spaces you provide is essential. It can also be expensive. I love Kadence's approach here, leveraging multiple points of existing data (wifi endpoints, ethernet networks, badging data and videoconferencing hardware) to "sense" usage of space -- at much lower cost than traditional sensor solutions. Lots of workplace leaders I know want and need better data to support investments in redesigning space. They're also often stymied by a lack of support for investing in more expensive solutions like sensors. Interested to see what other #workplace folks think? Noting here that I'm a Kadence advisor and (very modest) investor -- driven by the fact that I think it's an awesome product!
