K9 Veterans Day Please join us in honoring the incredible dedication of all our Military Working Dogs, past and present, who serve to protect their teammates. These brave dogs selflessly put themselves in harm’s way so that others may live. Today, we recognize two remarkable Military Working Dogs—Benno and Layka of the 1st/75th Ranger Regiment, alongside their handler, Julian McDonald. Benno made the ultimate sacrifice in service to his team, while Layka was severely wounded saving her teammates. Despite her injuries, Layka was able to spend the rest of her life as a hero with Julian. Let us never forget the sacrifices made by both our two-legged and four-legged heroes, who fight to keep us free.
