Yesterday was sunny and bright in Ontario, Oregon. Perfect day for erecting steel at Jackson Group Peterbilt Sales and Service facility.

Southwark Addition - 60,000 SF - Progress at 35 working days.

At the beginning of this year we renewed our focus on safety and quality, by setting goals, reviewing and improving processes, and implementing training throughout the year. Practice, preparation, and forming good habits are the key to achieving the best possible outcome. Last Thursday, one of our crew members had a medical emergency, and the rest of the crew performed life saving measures until EMS arrived. They did everything right that day and saved the life of one of their own. CPR and First Aid certifications were renewed just a couple of months ago, not just with the field staff, but with the whole company. We've completed 10 other training sessions since the start of the year as well. Extra training cost time, and it costs money, but what is the cost of not doing it? We love starting new projects! With permit in hand, we are moving on the 60,000 SF addition to Southwark Manufacturing in Caldwell. Survey, excavation of footings, forms, rebar reinforcement, concrete pour, and seepage bed installation are all underway. The metal building was delivered last week. Let's go! Small complex project? No problem. We've added an elevator to 4 different existing buildings over the years. Take a look at this elevator that was added to the exterior of a great client's custom cabin in McCall. There wasn't access for trucks, only small equipment, so all the excavation and concrete was done by hand with small tools and wheelbarrows. Both the exterior and interior had to look like it wasn't an add on. How do you think it turned out?
