Two of K2's Capital Improvements projects are finalists for the CoreNet Global North Texas Chapter annual awards! Spectrum Center Capital Improvements was completed in partnership with Gensler, Gardiner & Theobald LLP, and Acram Group and consisted of a repositioning of this landmark Addison office campus under new ownership. 5600 Headquarters was completed in partnership with GFF, Rubenstein Partners, and Lincoln Property Company and consisted of renovating and amenitizing the previous PepsiCo Headquarters campus to attract the modern day tenant.

Wingstop's Headquarters is a finalist for the 2025 CoreNet Workplace Strategy Award! Completed in partnership with Corgan and DFW Project Solutions, LLC, the 112,000 SF office was designed to encourage creativity, fun, and collaboration. Wingstop has seen tremendous growth both in number of restaurants and in annual sales volume over the years, and their new headquarters will support their continued evolvement for years to come.

We are proud to partner with repeat client Micron Technology on the build out of their three-floor research facility in Richardson's Innovation Quarter. "Micron is excited to continue to grow our R&D capability in Texas, with a focus on enabling future industry-leading memory products,” Scott DeBoer, executive vice president and chief technology and products officer at Micron, said in a statement. In partnership with HOK, K2 recently completed the Dallas office for Forvis Mazars US, a global accounting and professional service firm. Located at International Plaza II, the new office totals 26,000 square feet and includes custom curved millwork, back-lit wood paneled feature walls, custom planter boxes on radius completed with bent marble, polished concrete floors, and demountable office fronts.

Congratulations to Michael Davis, Superintendent, for being recognized as the 2024 Safety I2P2 Award Winner! An OSHA 30 Hour certified superintendent, he leads his own daily toolbox talks, performs daily audits of all equipment on his projects, and truly lives by the K2 Safety Values of being informed, empowered, and mindful at all times. Michael does not take safety on his jobsite lightly. He enforces daily the OSHA and K2 Safety policies with all that enter his projects, and he leads by example. He helps the skilled trades on his projects rise to the high bar he sets. We are proud to have Michael as a part of the K2 Crew!

K2’s peer-nominated Hero of the Year award recognizes two members of the K2 Crew that represent K2’s Values (Integrity, Positivity, and Passion) and Purpose (to be their HERO by helping others perform their jobs well). In no particular order, the second 2024 Hero of the Year we’d like to announce is… Beth Roberts! Beth’s coworker stated, “Beth is dedicated to making every experience with K2 the best for our customers and subcontractors. She is always looking to improve the process and isn’t afraid to stand up for what she believes is right." She is said to be always up for a challenge, knowledgeable, forward-thinking, perceptive, and a ‘sweet honey badger’. Others quoted, “She could run a jobsite as well as most superintendents. If you are wrong, she will tell you,” and “Beth has been a godsend to me at K2. She helps me be a better PM.” We are lucky to have you as a part of the K2 Crew, Beth! Congratulations!

A K2 Superintendent commented, “Agustin enthusiastically performs whatever tasks are asked of him. The property managers and building engineers really like him because of the way he installs and maintains protection." He is said to come early, stay late, and maintain an upbeat attitude even in the most challenging of circumstances. Another K2 coworker stated, “I request Agustin on my projects! He is the perfect example of what K2 stands for and what we are all trying to represent. He has my vote for K2 Hero of the Year.” Congratulations Agustin!

On this Giving Tuesday, we are proud to announce the contribution of over 25,000 meals to the North Texas Food Bank via our 12th annual Friendsgiving happy hour! Thank you to each of our industry friends who supported the event, and to our cosponsors: Corgan, Shaw Contract, Furniture Marketing Group (FMG), and Haworth.

In partnership with Rubenstein Partners and GFF, K2 recently completed a $20 million significant interior and exterior improvement to reposition the building as a high-end, multi-tenant office building. This 250,000 SF building features a revamped amenities package and now includes a new internal stair, commercial kitchen, fitness and training centers, and lobby. Significant structural work was completed to accommodate a building expansion and new curtain wall.

We are proud to showcase the completed capital improvements at Spectrum Center - a landmark office campus in Addison. Completed in partnership with HPI Real Estate Services & Investments, Gardiner & Theobald LLP, and Gensler, this renovation encompassed more than 200,000 square feet and included added amenities, tenant lounges, a new fitness center with pickleball courts, a coffee bar and the main lobby, featured below.
