Advancing university technology commercialization and corporate engagement
关于我们
The newly formed Kansas State University Innovation Partners is committed to collaborating with university, industry and communities to deliver a streamlined mission of corporate engagement, technology commercialization and economic development. Driven by innovation, our nationally unique organizational structure will serve K-State, community partners and industry in one comprehensive unit, allowing for more efficient intellectual property protection, economic opportunities and a consistent experience for partners. As a service unit and partner, we are dedicated to continuing our collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to identify common goals and shared initiatives. In doing so, we will accomplish more for the benefit of K-State, communities and the state of Kansas. Our core functions include: o Corporate Engagement: These efforts are focused on leveraging K-State’s innovation, talent and professional development capabilities to establish and expand strategic partnerships with companies. o Technology Commercialization: The protection and management of K-State’s university-developed intellectual property portfolio and commercial deployment of that technology through licensing or start-up company formation. o Economic Development: In partnership with university and community entities, this function includes the attraction, retention and expasion of knowledge-based companies in Kansas, as well as the improvement of the regional ecosystem to support economic growth. In 2018 the board of directors and executive committees of the Kansas State University Research Foundation (KSURF) and the Institute for Commercialization (KSU-IC) recognized that by merging the two entities into one unit, resources can be better leveraged, and collaboration improved, ultimately resulting in a clearer, more consistent message in delivering on K-State’s economic mission.

A great recap of SparkLabs Cultiv8, Cultiv8 Funds Management, and their portfolio companies' visit to Manhattan and Kansas State University last week. After visiting Cultiv8 in Orange, Australia a year ago, we were thrilled to host them in the Flint Hills to advance our partnership and build connections with their portfolio companies. It was a highly productive visit, and we're excited about the many next steps.
A fantastic few days exploring Kansas State University and the broader Manhattan region with our partners Kansas State University Innovation Partners. Our tour began with a thorough overview of K-State University, highlighting the broad opportunities available. The insights from David Rosowsky, Jessica Gnad, Greg Lohrentz, Sherilyn McRell and Dena Bunnel were invaluable. Daryn Soldan from the Manhattan Chamber of commerce provided a detailed overview of Manhattan's community and its forward-thinking approach to infrastructure, opportunities, and talent retention. The following day, we visited several key sites, including Kansas State University's Technology Development Institute, Agronomy Education Center, Beef Stocker Unit, Carl R. Ice College of Engineering, Kansas Farm Bureau and River Creek Farms. We concluded our time in Manhattan with dinner at the Flint Hills Discovery Center learning about the tallgrass prairie. A huge thank you goes out to Bret Lanz, Cary Rivard, Brian Spiesman, Dale A. Blasi, Jeff Wick, Jeff Sackrider, Rod Sackrider, Bala Natarajan, Caterina Scoglio, Brian McCornack, Ajay Sharda, Ignacio Ciampitti, Rebecca Dale, Gary Clark, Jason Woodworth, Mike Tokach, Joel DeRouchey, Bob Goodband, Cassandra Jones, Trace Mulligan, Ryan Flickner, Adrian Self, Jason Walker, Steven Witte and Joe Mertz for sharing their time and insights with us. Your engagement was enlightening, and we eagerly anticipate further discussions. Finally, to Rebecca Robinson, Ken Williams and Stephanie Pierce, these amazing few days would not have been possible without the collective efforts from you all. We are immensely grateful for the development of such an extensive agenda that was tailored to the needs of each of the participating companies. Your time, effort and hospitality are beyond appreciated and we are very thankful we were able to guests in your town and community. We are excited to continue strengthening our engagement and partnership with Kansas State University Innovation Partners, and hope this is the first of many trips to Manhattan. #agritech #innovation #partnerships #oztooz Zetifi | CleanEyre Global | Arugga AI Farming | FutureFeed | Nutrivert
