We deliver record results with investments in lower prices ?? For the financial year 2023/24, we delivered an EBIT result of DKK 4.43 billion (EUR 594 million) and increased our turnover to DKK 41.4 billion (EUR 5.6 billion). We invested in lowering our already competitive prices on over half of our popular quality products and set a new customer record. ?? “I am very satisfied with our results for the financial year 2023/24. Our employees at our stores, distribution centres, regional and head offices again showed admirable dedication and great customer first mindset during this financial year. Thanks to their hard work, we are setting records in turnover and number of new customers and delivering one of our highest EBIT growths,” says President and CEO of JYSK, Rami Jensen. The last couple of days, our Country Director in Ukraine Ievgenii Ivanytsia has joined the Danish Business delegation in Ukraine with focus on investing and rebuilding the country. During the visit, we hosted both Danish national TV station DR - Danmarks Radio in two of our rebuilt stores and the business delegation where they met some of our incredible store colleagues. ?? We have been in Ukraine for 20 years and just opened our store number 101 last week. ?? "There is always a risk when we invest, but we believe that there will be an independent Ukraine after the war. We are willing to take the risks associated with our investments," says Rami Jensen, President and CEO of JYSK. We prepare for Black Friday all over Europe ???? With Black Friday already underway in Europe, we have looked at how some of the JYSK countries have prepared for the busy period. ?? Black Friday requires a tremendous effort from everyone in the organisation to deliver all the great offers to our customers. Here is a peek into how a customer service centre, a store, and a distribution centre are dealing with the increased number of orders. ?? ?? In the customer service centre in Athens, Greece, they expect this year to be a busier Black Friday period than usual. ?? Updated webshop improves customer experience ?? On 22 October, we went live with a so-called ‘headless’ webshop in Portugal, which is the first JYSK country to offer customers a much faster and more efficient online shopping experience. ??? ?? “Our headless webshop makes the site four times faster compared to our previous webshop in Portugal. This not only enhances the customer experience but also brings significant benefits to our business by boosting efficiency,” says Mikkel Mandal, Head of Web Development at JYSK. When operating in 28 markets, it can be complex to roll out layout changes or new features. That’s why we have taken a step forward by launching the first headless webshop in Portugal. ?? But what exactly is a headless webshop? In short, a headless webshop decouples the front end (what customers interact with) from the back end (where data is processed). ?? “Think of it like a car, where you can change the exterior without affecting the engine or internal components. A headless webshop works in a similar way,” explains Mikkel Mandal. This separation of our webshop in Portugal allows for faster updates and customisations to the user interface without disrupting the underlying system. ???? The project has involved more than 40 colleagues across Web Development, E-commerce, and various IT teams at JYSK, who have paved the way for a faster and more flexible webshop. Ditte and her team lead our sustainability efforts ?? During the last year, Sustainability Director Ditte Revsb?k Hansen and her team’s focus has been to set the strategic direction when it comes to sustainability at JYSK. On 30 October 2024, we presented our new sustainability strategy, “A Great Offer for Generations”.??????????? Not only was this an important milestone for us, but it was also the culmination of months of dedicated work from our Sustainability Director and the sustainability team. ?? “We started last year by mapping all the impacts, risks and opportunities at JYSK, which was a big task, since we are an international retailer with many variables such as suppliers, products, stores and much more to account for. Luckily, JYSK has a great foundation of working with compliance, certifications and diversity which helped us in reducing the strategy to five main areas that helps us in creating meaningful change,” says Ditte Revsb?k Hansen. The 5 areas are: ?? Climate action ?? Responsible value chain ?? Trusted quality products ?? Attractive and inclusive workplace ?? Data transparency ?? “Many believe that sustainability is primarily focused on climate action, and that makes perfect sense to me, but as you can see from the new strategy and in our foundation, sustainability at JYSK is much more than climate action. This week, Chairman of the Board of Lars Larsen Group, Jacob Brunsborg, received a very special honour; the 2024 Business Award (‘Erhvervsprisen 2024’). The award was presented to him by Silkeborg Business at Drewsen’s Award Show 2024. Jacob Brunsborg received the award due to his and the owner-family’s longstanding dedication to the city of Silkeborg, which was cemented further this year, when Lars Larsen Group established its first own head office in the city. New Store Managers prepare for expansion journey in Morocco?? As we prepare to open our first stores in Morocco in spring 2025, our newly hired Store Managers have started on an inspiring onboarding. ???
