Today is World Toilet Day! Toilets are something we tend to take for granted, but for billions of people around the world, safe access to toilets, waste management, and sanitation is still out of reach. Lack of access to toilets can leave people vulnerable to pollution and disease. At Justice Necessary, our mission is to improve access to hygiene products for all. Though our work focuses on distributing necessites such as menstrual hygine products, soap and detergent, diapers, and toilet paper, we recognize the urgency and importance of improving access to toilets worldwide. Access to toilets protects public health and upholds human dignity—two values we’re committed to supporting every day.

On a recent afternoon, ten dedicated Otter Products employees took time out of their busy days to participate in a meaningful volunteer event, packing period kits in partnership with Justice Necessary and Grace Upon Grace Project! ?? These kits, aimed at addressing chronic period poverty, will empower students to access essential products outside of school, enabling them to participate in extracurricular activities without interruption. School is back in session but that *does not* mean students have everything they need. Think about it—what basic items do you use to prepare for your day? Clean Laundry? Soap? Shampoo? Conditioner? Toothbrush? Toothpaste? Tampon? Menstrual Pad? Hair Brush? Basic needs like these provide students dignity, confidence, and health as they put that school backpack on. They are necessary in keeping students’ focus on learning and their future. So far in 2024, Justice Necessary has provided Colorado students and families with: ?? 730,402 Organic & Eco-Friendly Period Products? ?? 72,925 Hygiene Products? ?? 75,796 Diapers & Wipes This brings our total to a whopping ?? 5,041,750 ?? units of hygiene products delivered over the last three years! Last week we joined Fort Lewis College and their Grub Hub to pack 1,500 one-month period product bags! The products will be distributed across campus and available at the Grub Hub pantry.
