关于我们
Our Boston bookstore seeks to shift the narrative in the publishing world by housing a collection of books by writers whose work often challenges political paradigms. Partnering with numerous organizations and artists, we offer a centralized hub and networking space in a cozy and comfortable book-cafe setting. We envision a place where we come to exchange our stories with one another in an attempt to grow together as a community. Because this is so, our bookstore will house a selection of social justice-themed books, in a variety of languages, that cater to residents of the neighborhood. Our uniquely curated selection will highlight local writers in addition to nationally acclaimed authors.

I'm excited to kick off a new series I'm curating at JustBook-ish this week with Dr.Lisa Woolfork, found of Black Women Stitch and the award-winning podcast, Stitch, Please. Please join us on Sunday, Feb. 15 at 4:00. RSVP below, please. In this conversation, we’ll be guided by some of the following questions, among many others: -What are some of the ways Black women and femmes have used quilting and sewing as creative expression, resistance, and much more? What are some of the “hidden in plain sight†stories that we need to know? -What advice do you have for those of us seeking to create our own creative practices, especially in community with others? I'm so excited to be in conversation with Dr. Woolfork on Sunday, Feb. 15 at 4:00 p.m. at Just Bookish. Come spend some time with us!

Our community was recently highlighted in?The Boston Globe, featuring the work of?Jeremiah Ancrum, a 19-year-old Fields Corner native, poet, and student at Benjamin Franklin Cummings Institute of Technology. Ancrum reflects on the JustBook-ish community by saying, “most of the time in our community, you see a liquor store or a laundromat. So to see a bookstore that’s the first of its kind is something that I’m very proud of." Thank you to folks like Ancrum who continue to bring our mission to life! https://lnkd.in/eGDEq74v
