We are so excited to welcome Rebecca Esquivel to The Just in Time Team, as our new Financial Fitness Coordinator! Rebecca grew up in the Bay Area before moving to San Diego to attend University of California San Diego. Throughout Rebecca’s childhood she struggled with a loss of identity and lack of community. When she moved to San Diego she was taken even further outside her comfort zone. She was able to find purpose and community as an Outreach Coordinator with the Newman Catholic Center at UCSD where she volunteered at a Youth Emergency Shelter. This experience provided insight into the difficulties of vulnerable youth populations and sparked a passion for providing community focused care founded in connection and hope. The focus of her higher education journey was influenced as well, motivating her to pursue a degree in Human Developmental Sciences. Rebecca graduated with her Bachelor’s degree in 2024. As Just in Time’s Financial Fitness Youth Services Coordinator, Rebecca now utilizes her experience and trauma informed education to create a positive impact on young people within the Just in Time community. She hopes to bring kindness, peace, critical resources and support to those pursuing financial literacy and independence. In turn, she knows that she has so much to learn from the youth she interacts with. Outside of work, Rebecca decompresses by relaxing at the beach, watching movies and baking desserts. She can often be found hanging out with her sisters or friends and blasting music all throughout her house and car every day.

??Gratitude in Action?? Hakim, a proud Just in Time alumni, and his incredible team at Mariner have shown us the true meaning of community!
