However, there is no precise definition of this term, and it encompasses a wide range of initiatives. The objectives of the restorative justice system include empowering the people most affected by the crime to make decisions, repairing the harm caused by the crime, and rehabilitating the offender. It is noteworthy that the process involves not only the victim but also all other parties affected by the crime. Despite the significant role of the victim in the restorative justice model, the traditional criminal justice system, which grants primacy to the state, often neglects the victim's needs and concerns.
