???Exciting Leadership Announcement!??? We are thrilled to welcome Dr. Jessica DeLong , MD, FACS as our Chief Medical Officer at Juniper Biomedical! ?? Dr. DeLong earned her medical degree from Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk, Virginia in 2007 and was appointed to the Alpha Omega Alpha honors society. She completed her undergraduate degree in Biology and Spanish at the University of Virginia in 2003. Both her surgery internship and urology residency were completed at the Lahey Clinic in Burlington, Massachusetts. After graduating from her residency in 2013, she went on to complete her fellowship in Adult and Pediatric Reconstructive Urology at Eastern Virginia Medical School in 2014. She is an Associate Professor of Urology. ? Dr. DeLong specializes in pelvic floor and genitourinary reconstruction, including urethral stricture, Peyronie’s disease, erectile dysfunction, male and female incontinence, female prolapse, and complicated urinary disorders. She is a member of the American Urological Association (AUA), SOCIETY OF GENITOURINARY RECONSTRUCTIVE SURGEONS (GURS), Société Internationale d'Urologie (SIU), and Society of Women in Urology (SWIU). She is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. ? She has published in several journals and texts regarding her work. She has presented her research extensively both at the national and international level. Dr. DeLong consults in both the #Urology and #Urogynecology spaces, helping companies in both biomedical device and pharmaceutical development. We are incredibly proud of our work with clinicians and also patients to understand truly the nuances of the conditions that make up #MixedUrinaryIncontinence (#overactivebladder and #StressUrinaryIncontinence) as well as their often lengthy patient journey. We have seen in our research that the majority of patients, despite having received treatment of some kind, are still looking for a solution to their symptoms, anxious in social situations and many even avoiding leaving their home altogether.
