The announcement that Yotpo will no longer support subscriptions highlights an important consideration for tech stack selection: vendors must be evaluated not just for their current capabilities but for their likelihood of longevity. The best choice isn’t always the cheapest, the trendiest, or the most well-funded, it’s often the vendor with a solid foundation of clients and a stable, promising future. This reduces the likelihood that you’re forced to migrate due to circumstances beyond your control. Over the past year, there has been a growing focus on niche app partners, like for example the rise of apps like Junip, which specializes in reviews and reviews only. It’s challenging to excel at more than one thing, and this specialization often leads to better outcomes for merchants. In 2025 I expect we can anticipate more consolidation and sharper focus within the ecommerce ecosystem as vendors strive to refine their offerings and deliver greater value.

"How can I get more legit reviews?" Clients ask me this all the time. Reviews are excellent social proof for new customers and collecting them can help drive sales — even from those same customers leaving them, too.
