The incredibly successful soft launch of JA SEPA's JA Finance Park? Simulation made an impression in our community this past week. For the first time in our area, young people experienced an in-person day as adults, creating personal budgets with the guidance of volunteers. JA believes that experiential learning solidifies the foundation for young people to become financially confident, connecting classroom lessons to the real world. We couldn’t do this without our volunteers! They are truly the heartbeat of our organization, as their guidance and interactions with the students make a lasting impact. This week, JA SEPA soft launched JA Finance Park, a simulation of a day where young people were able to spend the day as an adult to create a budget and it was an incredible success! Middle school students at Baldi Middle School navigated the reality of income, expenses, credit scores and more. The young people learned a lot and when asked about the experience, one said, "Every moment was cool". Yesterday I witnessed the launch of a transformative learning experience. Middle school students at Baldi had a chance to “adult” for the day and navigate the reality of income, expenses, credit scores and more. As I listened to the conversations and what they learned, I became even more convinced every young person in our region deserves to particiate in JA Finance Park. Junior Achievement of Southeastern Pennsylvania kicked off the JA Finance Park simulation today for middle and high school students in Southeastern PA! Young people engaged in the simulation following more than ten hours of JA financial education in the classroom. What’s the one thing you learned in school but didn’t?
