The Junaid Family Foundation is proud to announce our first investment in Africa, supporting Drink Local Drink Tap's (DLDT) efforts to advance Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) projects for safer, healthier schools in Central Uganda. Thanks to DLDT's latest initiatives, four new schools now have access to safe, clean water for drinking and sanitation. These projects will not only provide an essential resource, but also improve the health and education outcomes of the students they serve. Today, Drink Local Drink Tap is proud to have opened the final phase of #WASH facilities at Nsawo COU Primary School in Luwero, Uganda. This school and community has been an incredible partner since day one, and now family and friends to us. This school was a part of the scorecard project in partnership with Uganda Water and Sanitation Network (UWASNET) / Danish People’s Aid and supported by DLDT’s generous donors mostly in Cleveland, Ohio, USA. Now, 617 girls and boys #VIPlatrines with #handwashing facilities are open, a deep borehole (also serving 258 people from the community), SPOUTS International filters, and mango trees have been planted.
