Such stories are what keep us going ????
Do you all know about Jugnoo ? I booked an auto from there yesterday. As usual, he arrived outside my house, and I got in. The ride started like any other until he said, "Aapka ghar toh kaafi mehnga lagta hai" (Your house looks quite expensive). Awkwardly, I replied, "Haan, matlab thoda hai" (Yes, I mean, kind of). Then he asked me the price, and for some reason, I quoted a slightly lower number. I didn’t know why, but something about the conversation made me uneasy. Then came his next words, and suddenly, I wasn’t uncomfortable anymore. "Aapko job karne ki bhi zaroorat nahi hogi, itna accha rehte ho. Sab papa ki wajah se hoga na?" (You probably don’t even need to work, you live so well. It must be because of your father, right?) "Hamare toh papa bhi nahi hai… aur ghar ka ek hi kamane wala hoon" (I don’t even have a father, I’m the only earning member of my family) I told him I wanted to be independent, and that’s why I work for a living. I felt sad for him but a whole not of admiration. It's not easy working for more than 12+ hours and still smile. The ride lasted 20 to 25 minutes, and just as I was about to step out, he said something that genuinely will stay with me. "Madam, bohot kam log hote hai jo paise wale hoke bhi itna acche se baat karte hain" (Madam, very few people who have money still talk so nicely). "Last trip mein ek madam ke liye do stops liye, phir bhi ek extra rupaya nahi diya" (In my last trip, I made two extra stops for a lady, yet she didn’t give me a single extra rupee). "Thank you, acha laga aapse milke" (Thank you, it was nice meeting you). I was too overwhelmed to say much, so I just smiled and said, "Mujhe bhi, thank you bhaiya" (Me too, thank you, brother). The takeaway? You might earn in 5,6,7 figures, but if you stay humble, you’ll come across people who may not have as much as you, but are rich in experience, values, and morals. And when you are rich in these things, money finds its way to you. Because when you work honestly, the universe has a way of working in your favor. #storytelling #experiences #personalbranding
