Jubilee Housing and United Bank hosted Georgetown University students for an Affordable Housing Tour, which touched on financing for affordable housing development. Big thanks to Joe Lemense with United Bank for co-hosting and our friends at Sitar Arts Center for the tour of the Center! The students also toured our developments: 1724 Kalorama, KEB, and Ontario Place. #JusticeHousing #JubileeHousing

Jubilee Housing builds diverse, compassionate communities that create opportunities for everyone to thrive.
关于我们
Jubilee works to foster equity and bring about justice through housing—justice housing. Jubilee produces justice housing, which is affordable to those who need it most, coupled with opportunities we all need to succeed, and located in neighborhoods with easy access to resources such as good schools, grocery stores, and public transportation. Opportunities include employment coaching, financial capability training, academic enrichment, and re-entry assistance to those returning from incarceration. Jubilee concentrates on Washington D.C.’s Adams Morgan, Columbia Heights, and Mount Pleasant neighborhoods.

We were proud to be a sponsor of Jubilee Housing’s Raise the Roof event last week, raising awareness and support to continue their work towards Justice Housing in Adams Morgan, Mount Pleasant, and Columbia Heights. Jubilee Housing strives to build diverse, compassionate communities by creating deeply affordable opportunities for everyone to thrive. We are so proud of you Romaine!! ????
At the 2024 National Service Coordinator Conference we continued our tradition of recognizing the WHY behind what our members do what they do - by honoring a resident who exemplifies the resilience, empathy, and determination of the hundreds of thousands of those who live in supported affordable housing. Congratulations to the 2024 Resident of the Year, Romaine Johnson! Ms. Johnson was nominated by Eliza Miya Morris, the Director of Resident Services at Jubilee Housing, and serves as the Vice President of her neighborhood association, on the Jubilee Housing Board of Directors, and serves as a constant barometer of what her neighbors and fellow residents need. She’s known as an advocate for all in her community and the staff at Jubilee. Congratulations to Ms. Johnson and to all those incredible residents who make being a Service Coordinator a joy each and every day! #JustAASC #ServiceCoordinator #ResidentOfTheYear #AffordableHousing #SupportedAffordableHousing #NationalServiceCoordinatorConference #Empower #HeartbeatOfHousing

One of our favorite moments is witnessing the joy when a new resident receives the keys to their new home with Jubilee! ?? #JusticeHousing #JubileeHousing

I've been so excited about doing the work that I forgot to post about my new job. In July, I became the Managing Director of Jubilee Farms, LLC, a new venture of Jubilee Housing. Jubilee Farms is an urban aquaponics farm that will be housed in an affordable housing apartment building in the Adams-Morgan neighborhood of DC. Some of the residents in the building will be citizens returning from incarceration. They will be the farmers at Jubilee Farms. Produce and flowers from the farm will be sold at farmers markets, via delivery boxes, and evenbtually at our own farm store. So, aquaponics farming, fresh produce, affordable housing, workforce development, re-entry support, and community! Expect lots of posts (if I remember) about those things. And, get your forks ready! Plan to enjoy some vegetables from Jubilee Farms in the fall of 2025. https://lnkd.in/ev6EB_Qi

This week, I had the honor of attending the Jubilee Housing Gala at the MLK Library, a celebration of their incredible work and mission to provide deeply affordable housing and supportive services to those who need it most in Washington, DC. Jubilee Housing’s commitment to the Adams Morgan and Columbia Heights communities plays a vital role in ensuring these neighborhoods remain vibrant and accessible for everyone, preserving the diverse character that makes them so special and a place I have been proud to call home for over 23 years. I want to congratulate and acknowledge Clint Mann for his leadership as Board Chair and congratulate Alex Orfinger for his many years of impactful board leadership and raising both awareness and funds for the cause. Their dedication has been instrumental in driving Jubilee Housing’s mission forward and creating opportunities for individuals and families to thrive in our city. Organizations like Jubilee Housing remind us of the power of community and the importance of supporting initiatives that make a tangible difference. Their work in affordable housing is not just about providing a place to live—it’s about creating a foundation for opportunity, stability, and hope. I’m proud to support this mission and look forward to continuing to see the positive impact Jubilee Housing has on the lives of so many in the Adams Morgan and Columbia Heights communities.
