Do sonography programs have to visit students in person at their clinical sites a certain number of times? No, there is not a set number of required visits. Instead, programs have the ability to create a process that benefits their students best. When developing a clinical visit schedule, it is important to consider the following: ? Ensure you are maintaining regular contact with clinical sites ? Ensure the communication with each site is similar for all enrolled students ? Ensure students receive effective clinical experiences and that they are able to meet their learning objectives and clinical competencies.

If your program is CAAHEP accredited, your?Advisory Committee meeting must be held separately; it?cannot?be combined with other imaging programs.? Your program must have its own dedicated meeting to ensure that advisory members can focus on the specific needs, goals, outcomes, and improvements for your students.? Did you know CAAHEP does not require a set number of clinical hours for students? As long as students can meet the goals of their program and demonstrate the required competencies, the clinical hours can be tailored to suit the unique needs of each program. This provides an opportunity to design a clinical experience that aligns with your program��s specific goals and help to enhance student success.

JRC-DMS is proud to announce that Catherine Rienzo, EdD, RT(R)(ARRT), RDMS, FSDMS, has been awarded the William W. Goding Award for Exceptional Service! This is the highest honor awarded by CAAHEP. Cathie currently serves on the JRC-DMS Board of Directors and is a past president of SDMS. The amount of hours she has dedicated to our profession over the years is amazing. Congratulations, Cathie!

Graduate and Employer Surveys must be conducted annually, approximately six months after graduation. The results are submitted with the program��s Annual Report. Surveys may be administered via hard copy or web-based methods, but must be verifiable (telephone interviews are not accepted). Surveys must also be uploaded during the accreditation process. Survey templates are available on the JRC-DMS website!
