关于我们

The mission of JPNDC is to promote equitable development and equal opportunity in Jamaica Plain and adjacent neighborhoods through affordable housing, organizing, and economic opportunity initiatives that improve the lives of low- and moderate-income people and create a better community for all. We believe that people are entitled to live in healthy homes they can afford. When this happens, communities are strengthened and individuals and families have a foundation to thrive today and into the future. We believe that collective action is key to creating a more just and vibrant community. We believe that collective action is key to creating a more just and vibrant community. We believe that all members of a community should have access to opportunities that allow them to increase their income and assets. We believe that communities are stronger when people’s different identities are honored and people with diverse perspectives shape future directions. We believe that the issues our community faces require bold and creative approaches and that we must be willing to take risks in order to find real solutions. Our vision at JPNDC is for a vibrant, stable and diverse community in which people from all walks of life enjoy decent housing in a caring neighborhood, good jobs and opportunities to build careers or businesses, political power, and a promising future for our children.

  • A heartfelt thank you to M&T Bank for their generous Community Investment Tax Credit (CITC) donation! Their support is designated for our Small Contractors Success Accelerator program, which helps BIPOC-owned firms secure their fair share of Boston’s construction market. With M&T Bank’s commitment, we’re empowering diverse businesses to succeed and ensuring a more equitable future for all.

  • We are incredibly proud to congratulate E. Ricky Guerra, our Director of Real Estate Development, on receiving the Ricanne Hadrian Award at the MACDC annual meeting! This prestigious award recognizes individuals who engage local residents in building racially and economically just communities—values that Ricky embodies every day through her work at JPNDC. The Ricanne Hadrian Award is especially meaningful to us. Ricanne, a passionate community organizer and MACDC’s Deputy Director for Housing and Community Reinvestment, was instrumental in the creation of the Hyde Square Cooperative and deeply influenced our work. Though we lost Ricanne too soon to breast cancer, her spirit and legacy live on in this award. We are proud to see Ricky carry forward her vision and commitment. Congratulations, Ricky!

  • Yesterday, our team had the incredible opportunity to attend the MACDC Annual Meeting in Worcester, where community development leaders from across the Commonwealth gathered to celebrate achievements, share knowledge, and set the course for the year ahead. It was an inspiring day that reinforced our commitment to building equity and prosperity in Boston. A standout moment was hearing Isaiah Valmont, our Economic Mobility Coach, share how we’re expanding our support for the Haitian community. Isaiah, our second Haitian Creole speaker, is building on the foundation laid by Halley Jeremie, our Associate Director of RAMWP and the first Haitian Creole speaker on our team. Together, they’re strengthening our ability to serve and uplift this important community. We’re honored to be part of a movement that’s driving positive change for all! #CommunityDevelopment #EquityInAction #JPNDC #MACDC2024
