Joy Channel provides a multidisciplinary approach to shifting culture and working towards our collective liberation.

We are people who aspire to live in a truly equitable society - where workplaces are safe and inclusive for everyone, where belonging isn't just an aspirational word but it's something that is experienced by all, and where you can live in the fullness of your humanity (yes, you!) But how do we get there? Have you experienced living in a truly liberated society where plagues like racism, sexism, ageism, transphobia, and classism (just to name a few) don't exist? Yeah, neither have we. That's why our task at hand is to tap into our collective imagination - our dreams are the roadmap. Our work is in the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion space- but admittedly - we hope to be market disruptors. Instead of focusing on the destination, we focus on the JOURNEY and aim to shift our current culture of HOW we learn, grow and shift in becoming more self aware of how we perpetuate harm- and how we can heal. We know that information does not equal transformation. Instead of lecturing, we create experiences where people learn and grow together- whether that's a learning workshop or a community festival. Our clients have been cities, hospitals, non-profit organizations, production companies, governmental organizations- and individuals who seek one on one coaching to change! We are a team of multi-hyphenate creatives, consultants, educators and coaches. Come explore the next part of your journey with us.

    Three years of Joy Channel! Our team has grown, (3 people not pictured) - ZERO turnover. So proud to have founded an organization where folks can be their full selves- truly. Where our skillsets, talents, and career trajectories are supported by flexible work arrangements, and a strong organizational culture built for the emergent times we are in. I set out to build a collective that would support organizations and communities in meeting adaptive challenges that require nuance, creativity, and a keen understanding of co-creating culture. I knew that the questions and challenges plaguing most organizations require more than one way of thinking. Three years later, our team is comprised of civic leaders, inspirational coaches, world-renowned creatives, health professionals - and more. We've done and continue to produce life-changing work across 11 industries and counting. We need community more than ever, and I'm so grateful to the community of folks I'm honored to work, learn, and grow with over the past few years.

    To combat misinformation and racism, I have created several critical learning points about Juneteenth for my Big Kids. Here are the five lessons I teach my children as we honor the history and celebrate Juneteenth: 1. The Emancipation Proclamation did not "free the slaves." 2. The 13th Amendment only partially abolished slavery. 3. Black people freed themselves. 4. Honor Mrs. Lee and Black Texans. 5. Black people are still owed acknowledgment, compensation, restitution, and rehabilitation.
