This #WomensHistoryMonth, we're celebrating the women who have shaped tech and AI. Here are two of the first pioneers in computer science: ?? Ada Lovelace, widely considered the mother of artificial intelligence and machine learning, was the first person to write an algorithm. ?? Grace Hopper helped design one of the first computer programming languages. From hidden figures to storied standouts, women have long been tech trailblazers, yet are still underrepresented in this industry. Keep an eye out this month as we continue to shine a spotlight on the great women who helped build our future. Who inspires you? Let us know in the comments.

Mustarrrddd Mustard’s walking straight to the bank after tonight. It’s having its Hot Summer in February, and you can thank Kendrick’s energy for accidentally (or black intentionally) predicting 2025’s most unexpected condiment comeback. Between National Football League (NFL) Super Bowl ads making Dijon look like liquid gold and that wild 200% price jump from Canadian crop issues, mustard is finally getting its flowers. And here’s the real tea—despite a 5.27% decrease in harvested area, Canada’s mustard seed production actually rose by 12.6% in 2024, hitting 192,000 metric tons (StatCan). Big brands are now partnering with local farmers, turning the “luxury condiment” trend into real wins for small growers. #SuperBowl #marketing #canada

Breaking News: We don’t need to eat toys. The FDA has finally banned Red Dye No. 3—a synthetic dye linked to cancer and commonly used in everything from candy corn to bubble gum. This same dye was banned from cosmetics decades ago but somehow stayed on our plates. At Journey Foods, we believe food innovation is about progress, transparency, and putting health first. We’re working with brands worldwide to rethink their ingredients and make safer, smarter swaps. ?? Instead of synthetic dyes, we’re seeing the rise of plant-based and lab-grown alternatives that don’t just look good—they’re better for you and the planet. Think beet juice, spirulina, turmeric, and natural pigments that add vibrant colors without hidden risks. This isn’t just about Red Dye No. 3—it’s about building a food system that doesn’t treat our bodies like experiments. With 40 billion data insights and partnerships across the globe, we’re helping brands stay ahead by creating clean-label products that prioritize people and the planet. We are grateful for our many industry peers that have pushed for this for years. Let’s continue to push for safer ingredients and smarter solutions. Because food should fuel us, not fool us. #FoodInnovation #FDA #JourneyFoods #Nutrition #FoodSafety

The latest entry in The Coca-Cola Company's yearly “Holidays Are Coming” ad campaigns dropped down digital chimneys last month, to mixed reactions. A yearly tradition dating back to 1995, the spots are known for their warm, nostalgia-inducing visuals of a snow-laden small town welcoming a procession of festively-lit big rig trucks full of ice-cold Coca-Cola with smiles and hugs. They’re intended to engender feelings of community and connection. This year’s Coca-Cola ads include some that have been made entirely with generative AI, and while the visuals are technically impressive, audiences across the internet have widely reacted negatively to them. As reported by?NBC News TODAY Show, reactions have varied from “less festive, more creepy holiday vibes” to “ruined Christmas and their entire brand.” Shaping the Real Future of the Food Industry More than anything, AI represents a dramatic shift in who is able to be a serious player in the food industry. Where once behemoths like Coca-Cola were the only ones with the resources and funding to optimize their processes, deliver truly unique customer experiences, and comply with inter-market regulations across the planet, today, AI gives more people the ability to bring their ideas, work, and talent to the market than ever before. “The real power of AI lies in democratizing access to these tools,” said Riana Lynn, CEO of Journey Foods. “By prioritizing transparency, ethical data use, and workforce education, we can ensure AI benefits all stakeholders … while fostering a healthier, more sustainable food system.” “When used responsibly, AI can help us build a future where every bite nourishes not just individuals, but entire ecosystems.” https://lnkd.in/d5ZM7X8x #ai #supplychain #creativity #cpg #responsibleai

In our current food ecosystem, just 10 corporations control most of the global supply—a trend that’s only increasing with the rise of automation and AI. But at Journey Foods, we believe the future of food shouldn't be in the hands of just a few. In my latest article, I explore how #AI can serve as an enabler to empower small farmers, improve food quality, and bring healthier, tailored nutrition to everyone. Some key takeaways: Health Impact: Over 50% of calories in the U.S. come from ultra-processed foods, leading to health crises like obesity and diabetes. AI for Better Food: AI can personalize nutrition and improve food systems, from vertical farming to production efficiency, benefitting consumers and small producers alike. Democratizing AI: By making AI accessible to small farmers, we can revitalize local economies, support sustainable agriculture, and improve health outcomes. Ethical AI: Transparency, data privacy, and equitable access must guide our use of AI, ensuring it supports—not replaces—workers and local food systems. Read Riana Lynn's?full article on Fast Company?to learn more about how we can use AI to make food healthier, more sustainable, and accessible for all! ?#AI #FoodTech #SustainableFuture #JourneyFoods
