Will anti-inflammatory therapy be the next pillar for treating patients with HF? In this post-hoc analysis of the CORTAHF trial, in patients with acute HF and inflammatory activation, burst steroid administration was associated with improved symptoms and signs of congestion, which was additive to the effects of GDMT. ??Out Now in #JCF: In July 2021, the Journal of Cardiac Failure implemented a double-blind review process hoping to reduce bias. What are initial observations? The analysis found that female first authorship steadily rose while female senior authorship remained fairly stable. Further, articles with a female senior author were significantly more likely to have a female first author. Overall, the investigators found that the double-blind review process increased gender diversity among first authors in this initial phase. Further work will be devoted to continuing to understand the implications over time. #HFSA2024. ??https://bit.ly/47J8wLa

We’re excited about this research on the safety and feasibility of the FIRE1 implantable IVC sensor, from #HFSA2024. In addition to safety, this novel device provided accurate IVC volume assessment (R2=0.99 with concurrent CT)! Out now in #JCF. ?? https://bit.ly/3TOMUr3
