New Publication in the Journal of Business Ethics (FT50) with a great team! Vincenzo Vastola Giovanna Campopiano Domenico R. Cambrea "If you like It Green, put a ring on it!" Our study investigates whether the marital status of women directors influences a firm's environmental performance. Specifically, we examine how married women directors impact environmental performance differently in family and non-family firms. Key Findings: ·???????Married women directors enhance firms' environmental engagement, as their marital status cues traditional social expectations of caring and communal behavior. ·???????This effect is stronger in non-family firms, where gender stereotypes are more generalized. ·???????In family firms, the positive impact emerges only when married women directors belong to the controlling family, as family-centered goals heighten the pressure for sustainability and reputation-building. Our findings contribute to the debate on gender, corporate governance, and sustainability, highlighting how individual traits—beyond gender alone—shape firms' environmental strategies. 关于我们
The Journal of Business Ethics publishes only original articles from a wide variety of methodological and disciplinary perspectives concerning ethical issues related to business that bring something new or unique to the discourse in their field. From its inception the Journal has aimed to improve the human condition by providing a public forum for discussion and debate about ethical issues related to business. In order to promote a dialogue between the various interested groups as much as possible, papers are presented in a style relatively free of specialist jargon.

SOCIETY FOR BUSINESS ETHICS BEST DISSERTATION AWARD Submissions due May 1, 2025 The Society for Business Ethics (SBE; www.sbeonline.org/) is soliciting abstracts for #dissertations completed between May 1, 2024, and April 30, 2025, to be considered for SBE’s Best Dissertation Award 2025. While dissertations must focus on #businessethics, work from any academic discipline is welcome. The purpose of the award is to recognize the dissertation that, in the judgment of the committee, most clearly demonstrates the potential to contribute to substantial advances in business ethics research and practice. Recent winners of the award have focused on topics such as strategic questions around CSR, the normative implications of monetary systems, and entrepreneurship among women in Afghanistan. Those wishing to be considered for the award should submit an abstract up to 10 pages in length. From among the abstracts, three finalists will be selected and asked to submit full-length dissertations. The award winner will be announced at SBE's Annual Meeting in July. A complete submission will include these 3 separate attachments, all in PDF format without any identifying information in the source file: 1?? An abstract of not more than 10 double-spaced pages of text (including references, tables, figures, and appendices), standard margins throughout, Times New Roman 12-point or similar font. The author’s name, the advisor’s name, and the university’s name should not be mentioned anywhere in the abstract. 2?? A copy of the signature page, with university name, signatures, and date of completion, or similar official evidence of the date of completion of the dissertation. 3?? A title page with the author’s current mailing address, telephone number, fax number, and email address. The title page must be sent as a separate file from the abstract. Please note that the committee welcomes a variety of research approaches, including, for example, #normative/ #philosophical and #socialscience/ #empirical (both #qualitative and #quantitative). Submissions are due May 1, 2025, and should be sent to: Isaac Smith at [email protected] Chair, Society for Business Ethics Best Dissertation Award Committee Brigham Young University, US
