关于我们
We’re more than a pest control company—we’re your neighbors. Every day, we work to make our community a better place, from fighting pests to doing volunteer work. You’ll find we’re raising the bar in the pest control industry because our business is about more than the bottom line—it’s about helping people. At Joshua’s, here are the values we hold dear and strive to uphold in every interaction: --Be Nice-- We want to make our community a better place, and part of that is being a friendly, helpful neighbor. We believe small gestures can make a big difference. That’s why we smile often, work hard, and look for ways to make someone’s day. --Be the Solution-- It’s an understatement to say we take pride in our work. We live by the motto “If a thing is worth doing, it’s worth doing well.” That means we work diligently, efficiently, and happily. --Do the Right Thing-- We’re ready to tackle any problem we might face with openness and honesty. In everything we do, we’re committed to making our customers feel happy, safe, and secure. That’s why our safety and ethical standards are so high. --Keep Improving-- It’s our goal to learn and seek improvement every day. We constantly raise our own expectations for ourselves. That’s why we have daily training, and it’s why we always try to leave things better than how we found them.

At Joshua’s, our team of friendly experts is at the core of everything we do. Today, we’re excited to spotlight Sonia Valencia—one of our Field Care Shift Leads with 20 years of experience in the pest control industry and the embodiment of our core values: Do the right thing. Be nice. Be the solution. Keep improving. Sonia’s career began in her family’s restaurant, where she worked as a waitress, building her impressive work ethic and customer-oriented mindset. From there, she transitioned into the pest control industry, where she could utilize and grow these skills. Over the years, she’s done it all: working in the field, handling office operations, and now leading by example at Joshua’s. With two decades of experience, Soni’s pest control knowledge is unmatched. Her #1 piece of advice for keeping pests away? Keep those doors closed. "The most common is when [our customers] are having a problem with rodents. They keep the doors open. We always advise them to keep the doors closed to keep any invaders from coming inside," said Sonia. For Sonia, excellent customer service is all about building genuine connections and following up on recurring issues to ensure that problems are solved. "I always like to go back to the last service,” said Sonia. Making sure that the problem has been solved. When they tell me they haven’t seen anymore [pests] since I was there—that makes me happy." Her dedication doesn't go unnoticed. Here’s what a recent customer had to say: "Sonia, my field expert, was very professional and asked if I had any concerns. She was patient, got right to work, and was very skilled and knowledgeable." Beyond her work here at Joshua’s, Sonia enjoys spending quality time with her family. With her kids growing up and living their own lives, she cherishes every opportunity to be together. And while she may not be a big sports fan, you can find her watching football with her youngest son or enjoying her favorite cuisine: Mexican food. Our experts like Sonia are the reason Joshua’s is known for outstanding service and proven solutions. Her dedication to customer care and professionalism helps to give our community peace of mind. Thank you, Sonia, for everything you do!

Meet Jennifer McKay, our outstanding Commercial Account Manager! At Joshua’s, we hold daily pest training, so we stay on top of leading-edge techniques and continually raise the bar for ourselves and others in the industry. When you pick up the phone or answer the door, you know you’re always speaking with a true expert with the right experience to address your needs. That’s one of our differentiators as a company and indicative of the power of our commitment to you and our community.? No one exemplifies trusted expertise better than Jennifer Mckay, our Commercial Account Manager. With almost two years at Joshua’s and fifteen years of prior experience in the pest control industry, she brings an unmatched level of competency to her work. Recently, she received the ACE Certification from The Entomological Society of America, the gold standard for pest management that requires extensive pest knowledge to obtain.? Over her vast experience in the industry, McKay has observed some common household practices that accidentally lead to increased pest activity. McKay’s #1 piece of advice? You’ve got to clean those hard-to-reach places. “Lack of proper sanitation is the biggest contributor to pest activity,” said Mckay. “ Make sure you clear away all crumbs, debris, and water—anything that provides a food source for a pest adds to infestation.”? In the B2B field, McKay works to find solutions for larger, commercial properties and local businesses, where there are a lot lower thresholds for pests.? Businesses lean on professional pest control, because pest activity can lead to businesses being shut down for public health concerns and health code violations. It’s this sense of urgency and high stakes? that draws McKay to the business-to-business relationship, where clients need her expertise to help their businesses thrive. In her free time, Mkay works on her own business, Branding Iron Western Wear, where she sells hair-on-hide purses and other Western accessories such as belts, jewelry, and hats. This entails attending San Diego’s rodeos as a vendor to make connections and find potential customers, which is nothing new for Jennifer. As she puts it, she has “always been in the Western lifestyle” and has even worked saddling horses for the rodeo.? On balancing her job, business, and family life, Mckay said, “It’s not easy. I’m always going… But I am lucky to have a wonderful fiance who helps me a lot on both sides.” Her fiance and kids are right there at every rodeo to lend a helping hand. When she does have a spare moment, Mckay attends Western swing dancing with her fiancé and takes her kids hiking. Some of their favorite local spots to hike include Laguna and Cuyamaca. Jennifer Mckay’s expertise and commitment to excellence are evident in her work at Joshua’s and her life beyond. Thank you, Jennifer, for everything you do! #TeamSpotlight #CommercialPestControl #JoshuasPestControl #ExpertiseInAction
