We’ve just had our discussion in work for #TimeToTalk day about mental health! Have you? It’s so important to talk about our mental health not only today, but whenever we feel like we need to and to seek support?? I am so pleased that I was able to organise this important chat in my workplace today, creating a safe space and providing the opportunity for everyone to talk about our own personal experiences or to simply listen to one another. It’s so important and you never know someone might of really needed to hear that today ??. Myself personally, left the group setting feeling so positive and wholesome. Washing away any stigmas to mental health! Because we’re all human have feelings, emotions and matter. Did you know this week its national Time to Talk Day? ????? Time to Talk Day is an annual awareness day held at the beginning of February, this year landing on Thursday 6th February. It's a day for us all to start a conversation about mental health. We know talking about mental health isn't always easy. But a conversation has the power to change lives. ??*proceeds to pop the kettle on*?? We are encouraging all our team members to dedicate part of their day to sit down, slow down and and check in with one another. Whether its talking about their day, week, life and well-being.. we encourage it! We have some fun activities planned for those who want to participate and spend some time together which also strengthens team-building/ work relationships ???. Most importantly we recognize that our employees are individuals with full lives and complex emotions beyond their work responsibilities, we are all human beings first and foremost, not simply a resource for the company and we want to express that we care about all employee's and their well-being. Time to talk day may be 6th February, but we want to keep the momentum going and remind everyone that mental health conversations aren't only reserved for national awareness days, they should be part of our everyday culture??????. It's as simple as “How are you, really?”, it really can make all the difference.
