Loneliness at work is a huge source of stress and discontent, and it's a problem that refuses to go away. In fact, earlier this year Gallup reported that loneliness is on the rise, with one in five workers globally saying they're lonely. And that figure rises dramatically when you look at leaders... According to Harvard Business Review, 50% of CEOs say they feel alone and 61% think it directly relates their performance, which isn't great for anyone! Multiple factors contribute to this epidemic of lonely leaders, not least the very structures and hierarchies that have placed them in positions of responsibility in the first place.
