Wow!!! American Society for Reproductive Medicine - ASRM 2024 annual meeting was so amazing in so many ways. Everyday was filled with excitement of a different kind! Seeing colleagues and reconnecting is always a highlight. Additionally, every year we invite under represented medical students from local colleges to attend! This year 4- 3rd and 4th year students, Sandra Appiah-Kubi , Kori Baker Isabella Narvaez and Tochi Anioke from University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus were paired with ASRM members and attended conference, toured the exhibit hall, engaged in discussion with members and leadership over lunch, etc. Thanks Dr. Leslie Appiah for your assistance. It was heart warming to see their faces beam as they engaged with role models that look like them. One of them remarked that “it makes me feel warm”!!! We will continue to engage with them and support their interest in women and reproductive health through our ART DEI mentoring program sponsored by EMD Serono, Inc. on a virtual platform created by UpSquad! ASRM annually sponsors a resident program that some our mentees attended as well, Drs. Micaela Wyszewianski and Adrianna Tilton. Thanks to Ferring Pharmaceuticals for sponsorship of our Fertility Equity project research presented by Dr. Lasha Clarke from Morehouse School of Medicine. I am also exceptionally proud of our Health Disparities Special Interest Group (HDSIG) that I lead the founding of in 2004 continuing to do strong work in research to advance equity in reproductive medicine care. Drs. Michael Simoni, M.D. and Lisa Green as leaders of the HDSIG continue to provide stellar leadership in growing the organization. Many of our members had presentations throughout the meeting. Drs. Alicia Christy, Ruben Alvero, Kim Thornton and myself were the founding members and remain active. Thank you ASRM Dr. Chevis Shannon Kristina LaBoone and Jessica Goldstein for all your support! #diversityinmedicine #diversityinleadership #womenhealth #fertility American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) The Menopause Society National Medical Association National Hispanic Medical Association (NHMA)
