Sometimes your best effort is not enough. I’ve experienced this on a particularly difficult challenge over the past year. We’ve been trying to help women in Passport build their biz dev skills. Truth is, even for an experienced salesperson, opening an account from scratch is a rare, challenging skill. IYKYK We tested multiple approaches, but just could not unlock the transformation we know is possible. My best effort still never felt good enough. Until… My partner in crime, Corinne Chinchilla and I spent over 40 hours re-working every coaching lesson, revising over 200 slides and completely revamping what we call our Million Dollar Playbook. And today…I could have cried when our current cohort learned the art of connection in our coaching call. How to be human, make genuine connections with their prospects and add value ahead of a sales process. We took away the creative burden of how to connect, what to say, and how to spark conversations by writing dozens of scenario responses they face every day. The response was magic ?? It would have been so easy to give up on this pursuit but I knew we could simplify this process and teach it to others in a doable way. I try to model imperfect action and B- work, but anyone who really knows my heart knows I’m obsessed with helping women build flexible lifestyle consulting businesses that help them go onto even greater earning power.
