JBM-HH had the pleasure of welcoming Tyler Perry, Kerry Washington and Ebony Obsidian for a special event hosted by the USO ! The trio built care packages for our deployed service members and held a meet and greet at America's Kitchen and USO Joint Base Myer - Henderson Hall, before visiting the hallowed grounds of Arlington National Cemetery for a Wreath Laying ceremony. On behalf of our command team, we thank Mr. Perry, Mrs. Washington and Ms. Obsidian for their participation, and send a huge thank you to everyone who made this event possible for our service members and Joint Base family.

The Washington Nationals are providing meal kits to under serviced members of our community, including military families and single service members. The meal kit includes turkey, produce, and staples like mac n cheese, cranberry sauce, and stuffing. No sign-ups or registration required. Simply show up and receive your kit.

Joint Base Myer-Henderson Hall - More than 100 service members from around the Military District of Washington joined their family, friends and leadership from the Garrison in a joint service graduation recognition ceremony Nov. 21 at Memorial Chapel. Dr. Wes Smith, director of the Army Credentialing and Continuing Education Services for Soldiers and keynote speaker, congratulated the graduates on balancing military service while meeting their education goals.

During a Volunteer Appreciation event at Patton Hall, Col. Tasha Lowery, Joint Base Myer-Henderson Hall Commander, and Ms. Yolanda Hingle, Army Community Service Director, recognized several dozen volunteers for their “extraordinary service” here Nov. 7. While delivering her remarks, Lowery also thanked the volunteers for helping the joint base meet its mission adding, “whether (you’ve volunteered) with the Red Cross, or ACS, or helped support a Joint Base activity, volunteers like you make the difference in the quality of life of our Service members and their families.” Let's give a hand to these folks for going above and beyond for our joint base community!
