I can’t agree with this post more strongly. Every single day there are substitute teacher jobs that can’t be filled. In Alexandria City and probably in other districts it takes a short training program and a TB test, but positions are available every day that pay $113 a day and can make a real difference to kids in our community.
For those who are suddenly faced with (hopefully temporary) unemployment - while there are many gig economy options, one that may connect to the spirit of passionate development folks is substitute teaching.
