Never let others control how you’re supposed to feel… The truth is the culture of medicine has it totally backwards - rather than putting the blame on your shoulders, what if we taught every doctor a different message? Cc Graham Walker, MD If you’re feeling upset, that’s normal. If you’re feeling angry, that’s normal. Whatever you’re feeling right now, that’s normal. Your mindset is your most powerful tool. Don’t suppress what you’re feeling because that’s what you’ve been taught to do. Recognize and vocalize it as a good thing. Do you agree? Share your thoughts below. ?? Europe has figured out prescription drug coverage, so why can't we? ?? Our interview with Simon Chang, DO about why he quit full-time medicine to take on PBMs with his new company eNavvi is creating quite the buzz — and here's the truth: Every single doctor in the U.S. knows a patient who ended up hospitalized because their drugs aren't covered. Clearly, it doesn't have to be this way. Do you support Simon's mission to take out middlemen and build a cash pay prescription marketplace? Could this help you as a physician? Here's what physicians wish our patients knew: We hear you. We’re just as frustrated. We're stretched thin, overloaded with paperwork, undercompensated, and completely at the mercy of our broken scheduling system. Just because we're on the frontlines, doesn't mean we should be the punching bag. It’s a broken system that’s pushing everyone to the brink, and patients and physicians deserve better. #PhysicianBurnout #MedTwitter #HealthcareReform #DoctorsAreNotTheProblem #Offcall

The culture of medicine is holding you back. You tell your patients to get better sleep. To get more exercise. To reduce stress. To find more work-life balance. But then you push yourself to the brink. The way to become the best version of yourself as a physician is this: - Before telling your patients to slow down, slow down yourself. - Stop feeling shame or stigma about burnout and recognize it for what it is: A systems-level failure. - Leave your toxic job. Ask for that raise. And normalize non-traditional careers instead of considering them to be a personal failure. "Hustle" culture in medicine is not a badge of honor. It's the thing that's holding you back. ?? Listen now:?https://lnkd.in/gkwj9m8G?
