Last week, our team was thrilled to gather in Tarrytown New York for our annual Lavender Team Summit. We learned and grew as a team through ANCC accredited professional development sessions, had great discussions on quality care delivery, celebrated nursing week with a pin ceremony for our Psych NPs, and really took the time to connect with one another as friends and colleagues. Most importantly, we upheld our mindset of having fun by rocking the best 80s meets 90s themed party to celebrate Lavender’s 4th trip around the sun! As a team that supports clients through virtual care and collaborates remotely, we are energized by the in-person time. We can’t wait to bring this renewed energy into the rest of the year as we focus on clinical excellence, quality care, client experience and growth as a team.

The pinning ceremony is a time-honored tradition in nursing that signifies our commitment to uphold the values of nursing, including compassion, integrity, and service to others. We adapted this tradition at Lavender by having our operations team pin our new nurses at the Annual Summit, signifying the importance of teamwork as we collaboratively serve our clients each day. Only 6% of nurse practitioners are board certified in psychiatry. Psychiatric NPs are special because they go beyond treating symptoms and advocate for comprehensive care that addresses the whole person. Congrats to this year’s cohort of Lavender Nurses & NP’s! ??

In light of Nursing week we wanted to feature topics that our own Lavender NPs are passionate about! Molly Trevail MSN, PMHNP-BC has served the board of directors for the Nurse Practitioner Association in New York State the last two years. The NPA is a non for profit with a mission of promoting excellent and accessible healthcare in NYS through advocating for nurse practitioner professional practice. This vision includes NPs working at the highest level of their licensure providing comprehensive care and ultimately without barriers like written collaboration agreements.
