    CEO/Founder, Kinlia

Kinlia hosted a wonderful gathering last night for New York City Community Builders at Fabrik new third place in Dumbo. We started by discussing the difference between event organizing and community building. As you can see from our white board, some of differences that came up include a community creates a sense of Belonging, has a mission, engages people through participation rather than spectating. What do you think is the difference between event organizing and community building?

Product Coach & Community Builder in NYC

Next Monday, Prerna Singh and I are bringing the Product Leadership NYC community to Fabrik's new Brooklyn space (oh yaaaa) for a conversation on how to build a great product team. This time, we’re opening it up to founders and product leaders—because building the right team is one of the most critical (and challenging) parts of scaling a product. If you're in NYC and want to connect with other product minds, RSVP to join us next Monday in Dumbo! ?? https://lu.ma/s922u7en

Jaclyn Pascocello: Powerhouse Connector of People Some people build businesses. Others build experiences. Jaclyn Pascocello does both. A force in hospitality, retail, and community-driven spaces, Jaclyn has spent her career reimagining how we connect—with brands, with spaces, and with each other. Jaclyn’s Impact: ? Founder of Fabrik – A new kind of community space. Fabrik is designed to combat loneliness and foster belonging in NYC. Rooted in the belief that meaningful connections make life richer, Fabrik is more than a place—it’s a feeling. PS: Go check out their brand new location in DUMBO! ? Former CEO of HEYWEAR – Disrupting the optical industry, Jaclyn spearheaded an on-demand eyewear experience, proving that style, convenience, and efficiency can (and should) coexist. ? Former COO of Spacious – Before “work from anywhere” was a movement, Jaclyn helped build Spacious, transforming underutilized spaces, like restaurants, into beautifully designed collaborative working hubs. The concept was so good, WeWork took notice—and acquired it. ? Champion of Community – Early member of Chief and an active participant in multiple communities and networks rooted in hospitality, Jaclyn has always been about elevating those around her. Whether it’s in leadership, entrepreneurship, or parenthood (proud boy mama), she’s all about showing up and lifting others. At her core, Jaclyn isn’t just creating businesses—she’s creating experiences that make life more connected, enhance efficiency, and ignite inspiration.

Conscious Leadership Coach for Founders & Rising Leaders | Executive Coach | Leadership Team Facilitator

I've been craving more in-person collaboration lately. There's just something different in this work when you get in a room with each other's actually bodies, versus spending time on a computer screen. Yesterday, Elisa and I FINALLY got to play in-person together, hosting open conscious leadership office hours at Fabrik. A small but mighty group of wonderful folks came through, where we got to explore themes of wholeness, overworking, overgiving, and how our resistance can actually be a wayfinder for deeper alignment. Supremely grateful to everyone who came out, for their courage, vulnerability, and willingness to be seen and challenged. And ever-grateful to you, Elisa for continuing to be such a wonderful partners in bringing this work to more people. No commitments yet, but I imagine we'll do another open invite circle sometime in the next months. If it sounds invigorating to you to sit with other consciousness-minded individuals and get supported on your biggest challenges, I'd love for you to join us.

Fabrik was buzzing yesterday at my Funemployed ?! & Friends Community Potluck Brunch. It was amazing to see new and old faces with similar experiences come together to connect. This was my fourth event, and for each event, I like to try to new things to keep things interesting for both my community and myself. Shoutout to Derek Kastner for encouraging me to try Speed Networking! It was well worth it. More events are coming! If you have any engaging, low-cost ideas for events, please send them my way. Fixing what ails consumer businesses

This weekend in my newsletter I interviewed Jaclyn Pascocello about what she's building at Fabrik. You can find an excerpt below: "When you look at what's happening in the community space right now, there's undeniably a moment taking place. We're witnessing a perfect storm where traditional social structures are fraying while awareness of loneliness as a genuine health crisis grows. The pandemic accelerated this trend, forcing everyone to reconsider how and where we find connection, while our increasing dependence on screens and smartphones has created the illusion of connection without delivering the real benefits of human interaction. We're more "connected" than ever digitally, yet paradoxically more isolated in meaningful ways. What makes Fabrik different is our focus on physical "third spaces" – not just digital communities or one-off events. We believe meaningful connections happen when people have consistent places to return to, somewhere between work and home where they can be their authentic selves and explore new interests while making new friends. Formal and organic communities each have their own magic. Organic ones offer beautiful authenticity but can be difficult to access, especially for newcomers or those with social anxiety. What we're building is essentially infrastructure for community – removing friction without losing the authentic heart of what makes community special. I'm clear-eyed about what we can and cannot accomplish. We can build beautiful spaces, but we can't manufacture chemistry between people or communities. The opportunity I see is creating a new category between unstructured social environments and highly programmatic membership clubs, something accessible enough for those who most need connection, yet intentional enough to foster it."
