Six months ago, before I knew what our business model or brand would be, I knew who we wanted to serve and how I wanted our company culture to feel. I posted a short blurb about how I planned to structure social media and marketing roles and why I was hiring with accessibility in mind. That post went viral. In less than 24 hours, we had 75 super-qualified candidates on our Career Interest Form—people from FAANGs, universities, Fortune 500 companies, and non-profits—all with heartfelt notes on why they wanted to be part of?Divergently. Lesson I learned? There's a desperate need for humanity and purpose in the workplace.
