Marketing executive igniting growth and profitability through demand generation and data-driven strategies | “The Marketing Mom”
What happens when you pair a powerful solution with the right audience? IMPACTFUL RESULTS. A big thanks to Industry Dive's HR Dive for this insightful piece by Sonya Matejko and the studioID team to support Calibrate's mission to CHANGE THE WAY THE WORLD TREATS WEIGHT!
I write words and help people find them | Freelance writer | Part-time poet | Full-time wellness enthusiast | Soon-to-be published author | Founder of Nurtured Narratives
If you've been keeping up with the latest health trends, you've likely noticed that GLP-1s are gaining popularity for their weight loss benefits. But what you may not know is that their benefits go far beyond managing weight. For instance, did you know that losing just 5% to 10% of body weight can significantly reduce the risk of chronic diseases for people with obesity? I loved working on this story for?Calibrate?on behalf of?studioID, not just because GLP-1 medications are a hot topic but because I hope it sparks conversation among employers and benefits teams. With 42.4% of U.S. adults managing obesity (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) and facing increased risk of chronic diseases, employers keen to enhance workplace well-being are overlooking a critical opportunity to improve a large percentage of their employee bases' health. What I learned in writing this piece: ??Weight loss management is preventative healthcare and is about far more than diet, exercise, and willpower. ??Employers can save on healthcare costs while simultaneously?saving employees from developing numerous chronic conditions. ??Comprehensive weight loss management accounts for the whole person, including their metabolic health and lifestyle intervention. Knowing this, providing weight management solutions to employees seems like a no-brainer, and I'm excited to watch what happens in this space as more decision-makers become aware of it. In the realm of metabolic health, it's essential to shift our focus from merely counting pounds lost to understanding the broader health improvements that weight loss can bring. The real measure of success should be how we prevent diseases, reduce healthcare costs, and improve overall quality of life. The recent study on tirzepatide, which shows a remarkable 94% reduction in the risk of developing type 2 diabetes among adults with prediabetes, underscores this point. This isn’t just about the number on the scale; it’s about preventing a lifelong, chronic condition that carries significant health risks and economic burdens. To truly make an impact, we need to advocate for accessible and comprehensive metabolic health programs that focus on long-term health benefits rather than short-term weight loss goals. By shifting the narrative to disease prevention and cost reduction, we can highlight the necessity of these programs and ensure that they reach those who need them most. The future of healthcare lies in proactive, preventive measures that prioritize overall health outcomes. Let’s continue to push for strategies that make these vital programs more accessible and impactful for everyone. https://lnkd.in/g8hba5yF
