Our co-founder, Philip Minardi, and our partner, 2Gether-International, were at the United Nations in Vienna, Austria this week for the international launch of the first apprenticeship for disabled startup founders launching in multiple countries at #ZeroCon25. It was an exciting week. Today, Phil joined Diego Mariscal, CEO of 2GI and Mary Fernandez-Arias, MBA, Global Engagement Lead for Accessibility, Disability, and Neuro-Inclusion at Cisco to discuss the impact of entrepreneurial thinking and how this initiative will help new founders learn from experienced entrepreneurs. Starting a company is challenging for anyone, but even more so for founders with disabilities. This 11-month apprenticeship program will pair aspiring or early-stage founders with seasoned leaders, offering hands-on learning and mentorship. Wow! What a whirlwind it has been! 7 weeks and 6 certifications later I am proud to present to you the first cohort of the Chattanooga Tech Accelerator in Data Analytics: Tyrin Breaux Leticia Nunez Weston Braddock Fernando H. Deborah Crutcher Rayder Yoc Ehijie johnson Lakisha Howard (not pictured) All graduated with a stellar 100% completion rate for our first cohort that was selected from a pool of over 180 applicants. This group was led by a passionate group of instructor-coaches: Jeremy McIntyre, Jake Brown, PMP, and Dr. Squoia H.. This group represents young adults and adults that are pursuing economic mobility through a career in Data Analytics. Their intense commitment to complete a bootcamp in the evenings while working throughout the day exemplified their hunger to not only gain #techskills but to move forward into our local tech economy. This bootcamp training along with subsequent apprenticeship opportunities exemplify what Chattanooga 2.0 labels a #ViablePathwaytoProsperity led through #collectiveimpact. In Chattanooga and Hamilton County we are excited to collectively innovate to create opportunities, braid strengths and create both economic mobility and talent development for our local economy.
