Today we ignite this network with the launch of build_dreams, a multiplayer canvas for minting digital assets known as Dreams. Welcome to ground zero of the build_houston meetings of minds and metal. The Houston Maker Hub In collaboration with Giorgio Villani, the founder of Forgn Studio & H Town DAO, we'll be hosting events throughout 2025 at the intersection of culture, code, and craft. Inside Forgn's studio is 1,300 sqft of open space with additional flex room that can be used for everything from exhibits, to classes, to hackathons and everything in between. Throughout the building, you'll also find tenants working on projects across the spectrum from full-stack machine shops, industrial artists, racecar manufacturers, and more. When you're ready to take inspiration -> ideas -> prototype, committed tenants can gain access to an incredible range of tools via TXRX Labs. From CNC routers and laser cutters to 3D printers and metalworking tools, any idea is within reach. As society & tech converges exponentially faster, the Forgn Studio and Houston Maker Hub will serve as a playground for some of the most innovative combinations of technology in the Energy Capital of the World. The exasperation with our current political, economic and cultural state of affairs is leading to nihilistic proposals: - Burn it all down. - Tech will save us. - Run to the trees. - Human extinction at the robotic hands of AI. - Luxury citadels to escape the torches and pitchforks. - Vote Blue or Red. - Escape to the stars. - F it, pass me the blunt and another slice of pizza. We can acknowledge the unprecedented challenges we face, and at the same time recognize and be thankful for the incredible tools and opportunities we have at hand to ??????????_ the next version of what our world can become. I recently applied to debate at the Reindustrialize Summit in Detroit for June 25-26 on the topic of whether to improve existing cities or build new ones. While I patiently compressed the bulk of our thesis build_cities into a 30-second submission arguing for the improvement of existing cities, I couldn't help but feel the rush of supporting arguments bleed out the edge of my time box. So here is an expansion of these arguments:

What happens when you gather a bunch of the brightest minds in the Space Coast to hack for ~48 hours in the burgeoning space/hartdtech scene? Real solutions solving real problems and a catalyst for a new upstart culture in the associated towns (Melbourne, Palm Bay, Titusville, etc.) Key enablers: Spencer Macdonald Center for Advanced Manufacturing and Innovative Design Colten O'Malley Cassandra Hartford Rise8 Metronome XTRM Inc. and most importantly, the hacker teams that made it possible.

The future of #government and #economic development is rapidly changing. It is increasingly needing to leverage technology to engage and empower residents to participate in the process of building cities and nations.
