"We need to have more women speakers," Anya Geimanson ??? told me after one of the NYC conferences that was dominated by male voices. Fast forward just one month, and there we were at GROW—Anya and I sharing personalization wins on stage, breaking barriers and making waves. ?? The energy was electric, the insights were powerful, and the reminder was clear: diversity in voices and perspectives is not just a nice-to-have—it’s essential. Had an amazing time at the GROW in Beverly Hills last Wednesday! It was an inspiring day surrounded by innovative online retailers, tech pioneers, and forward-thinking investors, all coming together to discuss where the industry is headed. Beyond the sessions, the best part was the chance to chat one-on-one with people who genuinely care about pushing boundaries and finding new ways to thrive in a constantly changing landscape. A review of my first time at GROW! TLDR: it was the best conference of the year to *meet brands and new people* Between e-Com and Fintech, I’ve somehow attended 9 conferences this year ?? thank you to the Social Snowball ?? team for inviting me the speak ???? thank you Sheiva Sajadpour (who I met at a conference) for hosting, the video/pics, and being a huge source of inspiration ?? Let’s get in to GROW: ?? it was a one day conference that provided the value of attending for one week ?? if you’ve attended 2 eCom events, you probably recognize half of the room at every following event !GROW WAS NOT THAT! - I only knew about 10% (or zero at Jessica McDaid’s dinner which was my fave after event I’ve ever attended) (Brian Hettler you are pure gold) ?? the GROW team are incredible humans // I’d happily live in the GROW house ?? I’ve had the least spamy event follow up in my inboxes this week ?? I take back that I won’t repeat any conferences next year, GROW is an annual *MUST* attend ?? A huge thank you to everyone who complimented that Noah Tucker ??, Richie Mashiko and I were *authentic* or *so comfortable* on stage - I’ll never only prepare by reading the questions and thinking “this is what I do every day, I’ll answer whatever comes to mind that day” again - but I’m glad we gave the vibes - the stage was so much larger than I anticipated Can’t wait to speak at more events into the next year ??

Another one in the books! Had a great whirlwind trip with Social Snowball ?? at GROW. A few takeaways from talking to many of the attendees: 1. Paid Ads are getting expensive, and marketers are under increased pressure to optimize their spend while managing their investments in other channels. 2. Affiliate marketing is on everyone’s mind. I got countless questions from merchants looking to build authentic engagement via customer affiliates. 3. The old pay-for-post influencer model is dead. Many of the brands that I spoke to told me about the disappointing results they’ve seen from doing old-school paid promotions, and many were very skeptical about influencer marketing as a channel. Explaining our approach of treating influencers like affiliates got a lot of genuine excitement from marketers who felt they’d already burned through the channel. 4.
