Last week I had the honor of facilitating a small group and acting as hospitality manager for a Gamechangers LIFT event here in Boston. Gamechangers is built around the idea that women are stronger together. Throughout the day we got the chance to engage in workshops surrounding professional development, entrepreneurship, career growth, as well as small obstacle workshops where we were able to share and receive feedback on one obstacle that we were experiencing in our professional life. This event gave me such an incredible opportunity to connect with like minded and powerful women who are focused on both career and personal growth. I walked away feeling empowered, excited, and grateful for all the new breakthroughs, relationships, and connections! Thanks to Rachael Rogers, MBA for bringing us all together and being our fearless leader, to Tess Dutton for the incredible work structuring the day and facilitating, to Victoria Holt for being my co-leader in our small group, and to all the women who showed up with so much bravery, authenticity & beautiful energy. I recently attended a gathering and fellowship of high-powered women hosted by Gamechangers. Game Changers is a community of ambitious women who are breaking barriers, challenging the status quo, and changing the game in their careers. I was so happy to be invited to such event which left me completely inspired ? As an Afro Latina in leadership, I am always looking forward to meet and engage with other women who are embracing their individualism and by doing this, bringing value to the workplace. I am excited to see the future ahead of Gamechangers and even more excited to continue being part of it. This weekend, we gathered an incredible community of ambitious women for our Stronger Together event—women who are breaking barriers, challenging the status quo, and changing the game in their careers. When I founded Gamechangers, it was born from my own journey and the challenges I’ve faced along the way. From early experiences that underscored the different expectations for girls and boys to the subtle and overt barriers women encounter in their careers, I’ve felt the friction that comes with being a woman in leadership. I’ve also discovered that by coming together, we can rise above these challenges. As Melinda Gates said, an airplane finds its moment of lift when the forces pushing the wings up become greater than the forces pushing it down. ?? That’s what this network is for: to unite talented, ambitious women who uplift and empower each other, workshop our challenges, and find the inspiration and momentum we need to fast-track our careers and drive greater impact. I had the best time this past weekend meeting like-minded women at the Gamechangers Stronger Together event.
