So excited to announce our investment in Skin Check today! Skin Check is leveraging AI to revolutionize skin cancer detection, making it faster, easier, and more accessible. What makes me most excited to support Skin Check is the team behind the company. CEO Daniel Marques is a special individual who I’ve had the opportunity to grow alongside over the past 5 years. From his time as an Atento Capital VC Fellow (where he led the entire fellowship in deals sourced) to launching Sky Ventures - Oral Roberts University's first incubator - to our time working together at Bootup Studios, he's consistently pushed boundaries, built impactful initiatives, and driven results. Watching his journey has been incredible, and I'm privileged to have the opportunity to support him again in this new chapter. Skin Check's co-founder, Julian Abhari, a published researcher and inventor, with both computer vision and biomedical expertise, brings the lived experience and cutting-edge research that drives Skin Check's innovation. Together, Dani and Julian are a formidable duo who have the opportunity to change skin cancer detection forever. In addition to my excitement around supporting Dani and Julian's excellence, they represent exactly what the future of Bootup Studios is all about: pairing brilliant academic researchers with the capital and support to turn groundbreaking ideas into companies that solve society’s biggest problems.
