?? TB isn’t a fight that can be paused. When treatment is interrupted, the disease spreads. When patients stop medication too soon, TB becomes drug-resistant—harder to cure, more expensive to treat, and deadlier. ? #CCP-led efforts with Nigeria’s National Youth Service Corps expanded TB education and screening, equipping 400,000+ young leaders to bring life-saving knowledge to their communities.??? ? Though CCP and its partners' support has ended, local leaders are stepping up to sustain education, detection, and reporting. Their efforts remain critical—because when TB prevention slows down, lives are at risk. ? ?? We believe in the power of communication to save lives, by enabling people to adopt healthy behaviors.
关于我们
More than 35 years ago, the Johns Hopkins Center for Communication Programs was created to recognize the crucial role of communication in public health. We remain leaders in social and behavior change today because we understand that words matter, that community matters and that only by working together can we improve the health of individuals, families and communities around the world. We believe in the power of communication to save lives, by enabling people to adopt healthy behaviors for themselves, their families and their communities We work with governments and NGOs, providers and clients, community health workers and religious leaders, and men and women who simply want healthier lives for those they love. We stand alongside partners rooted in the communities where we work to better understand the needs of those we serve – and help them advocate for what they need to break down the barriers standing in the way of sustainable change.

Better child nutrition isn’t just about what is said—it’s about how it’s communicated. ? New research from?#CCP?in Nigeria shows that caregivers are more likely to absorb and act on health advice when community health workers (CHWs) build trust and engage in true dialogue. ? The study found that: ? Caregivers often tune out one-way, scripted counseling ? Interactive conversations encouraged engagement and retention ? A simple shift—listening first, speaking second—transformed CHW counseling ? Health outcomes aren’t just about information delivery—they’re about human connection. ? ??
