John Wayne Airport proudly welcomed the inaugural cohort of the OC Career Academy (OCCA) – Clerical pathway for an immersive career exploration experience, introducing participants to the diverse opportunities within the County of Orange. OCCA, a pre-apprenticeship program, provides recent high school graduates with hands-on training and professional development in Clerical and Laborer career pathways, with plans to expand into additional fields. During their visit, participants engaged in a panel discussion with JWA’s Public Affairs team, gaining insights into Communications, Customer Relations, Technology Communications, Government Relations, and Media Relations. They also toured the airfield and fire station, experiencing firsthand the operations that keep JWA running safely and efficiently. JWA is committed to workforce development and mentorship, supporting programs that inspire and connect young talent to meaningful careers. ???? Ribbon Cutting Celebration at John Wayne Airport! ???? This week, John Wayne Airport proudly hosted a Ribbon-Cutting and reception to celebrate the Heritage Museum of Orange County Exhibit, a showcase of Orange County’s rich history and the 100-year legacy of Kellogg Garden Products. Airport Director Charlene Reynolds, HMOC Executive Director Candace Chromy, members of the Kellogg family, a representative from Congressman Lou Correa’s office, and a fantastic lineup of special guests brought history to life! ?? The King—Kellogg Garden Product's beloved mascot—joined in the celebration alongside volunteers from HMOC’s Tea Society, who wore stunning Victorian-era outfits, giving guests a glimpse into the past. Another volunteer talked about blacksmithing, showcasing the artistry of traditional metalwork and promoting blacksmithing classes available at the museum. This exciting exhibit, on display through June 2, 2025, highlights the evolution of Orange County and the enduring impact of the Kellogg family.
