John Loves Giving Tours of Our Operations We give tours for high school students and clients from social service agencies. John runs the tours. He shows videos, demonstrates how we pick orders and how we assemble gift boxes. John answers their questions, takes pictures with our guests and gives everyone a gift bag with socks. Visitors love the Tours. More than 2,000 people have taken a tour with John. It is important for students and clients with differing abilities to see people like themselves working and owning a business. It gives them hope and encouragement. Selling socks make this possible. People with differing abilities represent an extraordinary, untapped talent pool, ready to work and contribute. To unlock this potential, New York can take three key steps: 1. Certification for Disability-Owned Businesses 2. Set-Asides for Disability-Owned Businesses 3. Expand NYSID Programs to Include For-Profits A Future of Inclusive Growth People with differing abilities are a vast, often-overlooked resource. They are ready, able, and willing to contribute to our economy, bringing diverse perspectives, talents, and innovations. Yet, structural barriers have kept many from reaching their full potential.
