Many congratulations to our CEO, Nish Kankiwala, who was awarded 'CEO of the Year' at the Asian Business Awards this week.??? Nish was appointed as the Partnership’s first CEO in March 2023, but had joined the business as a non-executive director in April 2021. While CEO, the Partnership has accelerated its transformation, refreshed its strategy to be rooted in retail, improved its cashflow and returned the Partnership to a full-year profit. The Asian Business Awards, has become the biggest celebration of Asian enterprise in Britain, highlighting the talent, drive and passion synonymous with the community and recognising the very best businesses in a variety of sectors.

This week, we're proud to announce that we've introduced a new fertility policy to support our Partners who are on a medically-assisted fertility journey.?? The new policy outlines the support we provide for Partners to attend fertility appointments, receive treatment and recover from any side effects during a medically assisted fertility journey.?? It provides support to those undergoing treatment for infertility, looking to start a solo parenting journey, or those part of the LGBTQIA+ community who may need medical assistance to start or grow a family without adopting. #nationalfertilityawarenessweek2024 #fertilityintheworkplace #Fertility #FertilityAwarenessWeek

LOOKING BACK ON BLACK HISTORY MONTH ?? Throughout the month of October, our Partners have been celebrating Black History, and we're taking a look back at amazing work they've been part of.? ?? johnlewis supported 2024’s Black History Month theme ‘Reclaiming Narratives’ by highlighting black beauty products in-store and online. ??? Partners from across the Partnership also attended the UK Black Business Show and there were in-store events and BHM-inspired menus in our Partner Dining Rooms. ?? Waitrose & Partners took the message on the road with Black History Month campaign displayed across the Waitrose supply chain fleet as well as shared editorial content in the Waitrose Food magazine. Our Black History Month exhibition also returned for a fifth year, and, for the first time, went on tour by visiting various Partnership locations. The exhibition focused on the 2010s and explored a variety of different topics including the opening of JL Stratford in time for the London 2012 Olympics, and how black culture was represented on television and in films. “We may be at the end of Black History Month for this year, but the work will continue all year round,” - Preeti, Diversity & Inclusion Specialist. #BlackHistoryMonth #JohnLewisPartnership #Waitrose #JohnLewis
