Our work falls into five focus areas, with multiple activities within each focus area. 1. Financial Success: JBNC supports neighbors in achieving financial well-being. Through education, coaching services, and career development, neighbors increase capacity to create, build, and pass down long-term wealth. 2. Education Achievement: When youth have access to exceptional educational supports and are set up to succeed in school, their opportunities for the future grow exponentially. JBNC helps foster that progress through a continuum of health, social, and educational supports from birth through college and career. 3. Health & Wellness: Maintaining a healthy lifestyle is important for a happy life, and wellness looks different for each of us from generation to generation. That means different tools and programs to meet different goals. JBNC offers resources to help our neighbors achieve the results that lead to health and independence. 4. Housing Opportunities: By providing safe, stable housing options to families, older adults, mobility-impaired, and vulnerable families, JBNC is able to enhance and maintain quality of life for multiple generations. JBNC owns, operates and manages 250 housing units to offer stable housing to those who need it most. 5. Community Development: Great neighborhoods aren't just about the people - they're also about the places where we live, work, and play. JBNC works with neighbors, partners, and other stakeholders to improve the quality of life through impactful projects and initiatives that affect the quality of life for all residents.

United Neighborhood Centers of Indianapolis and United Way of Central Indiana announced a joint investment of over $1.7 million to the national nonprofit Undue Medical Debt. This one-time investment will relieve more than $239.6 million in medical debt for over 112,000 people across Central Indiana. The Eastside Economic Mobility District plan included a strategy focused on medical debt relief for the Martindale-Brightwood, Near Eastside, and Twin Aire/Fountain Square neighborhoods. Late last year, the strategy was discussed with a donor who has supported all three centers since 2017. This donor has provided our centers with funding to remove financial barriers for participants in our respective Center for Working Families programs. Recipients have already received a letter notifying them of this debt being abolished. The letter also provides a map of the locations of the community centers and a listing of all federally qualified healthcare centers within Marion County. Read more: https://lnkd.in/gS8EERgd

We're looking for Group Fitness Instructors to join our team at the Fitness Zone. We are eager to launch Group Fitness Boxing Classes in our community! This position is part-time, reports to the Director of Fitness and Wellness, and will work from the Fitness Zone location.
